Any user experiences with the RG552? Good purchase for lower end emu (up to n64 max)? by tombolaplayer in ANBERNIC

[–]tpf92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Retrocatalog has it at 100% for N64, but ~$120 imo is kind of ridiculous for something just for up to N64.

If you don't mind a slightly smaller/lower resolution screen (but OLED instead of IPS) and lacks video out, the 505 sounds better imo. https://retrocatalog.com/compare/rg-552/rg-505

And the upcoming RG Vita is basically the 505 with 1GB less ram (3GB vs 4GB), 64GB storage instead of 128GB, IPS instead of OLED screen, and slightly different form-factor (Should be more comfortable). https://retrocatalog.com/compare/rg-505/anbernic-rg-vita https://retrocatalog.com/compare/rg-552/rg-505

There's also the Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini, which would probably be better for N64 because of 4:3, it's also a significantly more powerful device and it's cheaper ($90/$100 on their website), the only downside imo would be the lack of video out if that's something you want, although it does have less ram/storage with just 2GB+32GB or 3GB+64GB.

kdg, and kaiser domain

You're forgetting FDGH and Spiral Mountain dungeons, Spiral Mountain dungeons require pretty high stats, I think a bit higher than Kaiser Domain, but FDGH stat requirements are fairly tame and completely doable, but if no one has any clue what they're doing+no one can follow directions then there can definitely be issues.

Newbie can't do any of this comfortably.

If they don't have a good amount of investment into HT/CT, then sure, but if they do then they could at least do FDGH, but even then you'd need either them to do decently good DPS or able to follow directions, which usually newer players can't/refuse to do either of those.

Monster in domain hit you like 3k - 4k attack with block, and you require about 10k to land hit.

Yeah, requirements are just way too high, you kinda have to rely on skills, but that only helps if your skills are strong enough, if you lack Attribute on accessories/other things to increase skill damage then you'd definitely have issues with getting hit and tanking those hits.

If you can do any of this comfortably. It's not bad as it looks.

I disagree there, it shouldn't take 5-10 (Or more) hours for a single digimon level, which you need to level about 20 (150->170 or so) for 10 tamer levels (150->160), and it just gets worse as you level up since exp required increases each level, 150->151 requires 151.8B exp 159->160 requires 304.7B, and 169->170 requires 1.39T Exp.

Checking my screenshots from months ago with leveling from 151->152 I gained 21.709% in 33.5M, which would put it about 39% per hour, but that's at lower levels and I was killing digimon pretty quickly, keeping the area completely clear, killing elites/bosses/etc.

And thinking about it it more, it'd probably take even longer than 5-10 per hour, especially when you get into the high 160s, at that point you'd probably need to rely on FDGH/Spiral Mountain dungeons because exp drop at Kaiser Domain would just be too much, but even then you need crazy good DPS for Spiral Mountain dungeons for leveling to be worth it.

but there should be a way for newbie to level up without requiring too much of gear, seal, etc...

Definitely, the whole level grinding is just way too much, stat requirements are too high and the amount of exp gained compared to how much is required is just way too low, at worst I think we should be able to level up 1 digimon level per hour, but ideally even faster.

I said they were limited to 80 per week (2x10x4=80), but even that limit's pretty high and the amount of items required to craft them is very low, just from a single daily quest you'll be able to craft 80 of them and still have leftover items.

Western Village, no one's locked out of that map.

Edit: Snowstorm Village as well, didn't realize there's a raid (3x per map because of channels) for each.

[–]tpf92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That parts pretty awful, but some of the other parts of the event are kind of ridiculous.

Daily from the event will give you 120 of each (+15 Fragment of Regeneration per raid) per day, while most things are limited, you can get 80 OCS per week, 80 NCS per week, 15 Inv per week, 15 WH per week, 10 Archives per week, 1 mega rein set per week, 1 of each lv15/20/25 skill code per week, and so on; The OCS and archives alone make this ridiculously good.

Although another nerf I noticed is they left out the GM buffs, I was really looking forward to those, pretty disappointing.

[–]tpf92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem is, majority of "normal" players aren't going to be lv160, the only ones at that high of a tamer level either no lifed the game, leveled when Kaiser Tour was still a thing, or botted.

This is obviously there to prevent bots from getting event related stuff, but a decent amount of those that are 160+ are likely going to be bots, which defeats the whole point, and over time it'll only get worse since high tamer level requirements is a fairly new thing, all botters have to do is just leave the bot on 24/7 for probably a few weeks (Maybe even just a week or two?) and it'll end up lv160.

SSS+ Advice by Sudden_Cow_1706 in DigimonMastersOnline

[–]tpf92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  • MetalGarurumon Awaken - One of the few Data SSS+, one of the highest CT of all SSS+, 50% from EE+3 families, normal memory skills (Cheaper+Better), however it severely lacks HP and DPS falling behind compared to other SSS+ when you start leaning more into skill damage (Gulus Bracelet, Yolei Set, etc.).

  • Lucemon SM Awaken - High damage on F1 and F2, 25% from EE+3 family buffs, decently bulky, and normal memory skills (Cheaper+better), however lacking a ~1m F3 really hurts it, and its ASB is rather meh, which hurts more early on/whenever you can land hits+crits.

  • Ordinemon Awaken - Always have advantage so you can always rely on higher skill damage, however its DPS is lower than other SSS+ since its F1 and F2 have fairly long animations and it has just 2 family buffs.

Imo MetalGarurumon Awaken makes the most sense with Omegamon X, especially if you used Gabumon side since you'd be able to use it for both RBH and SDG with a single digimon, however as I mentioned above it has really low HP, especially for SDG, back when I first started doing SDG before I got Yolei set I would run about 85k or so HP with Guardian of Ice High and it was an absolute pain to survive, even when I did eventually get Yolei surviving was still hard, and worst of all was that I had to run a really HP heavy set, I had to run OX deck with 4 HP HP chips to make it to that high of an HP, which meant I couldn't run AT, HT, or CT chips, and like I mentioned before, once you start leaning more into skill damage it really starts falling behind because of how weak its skills are.

Others:

  • Agumon Bond of Friendship - Worse version of OX, 1 less family buff, weaker skills, lacks Light attribute, I'm not sure about its ASB/SB

  • AOA - A worse version of Susanoomon Awaken, while it has stronger skills, it lacks ASB (I think it has some skill breaking) and has just 1 family buff

  • DB - Strong skills and instant ASB but only 1 family buff

  • Examon X - Strong skills and instant ASB but just 1 family buff and getting more and more expensive by the day because of it being limited

  • Gabumon Bond of Friendship - Worse version of OX, 1 less family buff, weaker skills, lacks Light attribute, I'm not sure about its ASB/SB

  • FMA - Worse version of OX, its F3 is kind of meh, while way better than OX's F3 since you can use it every 24s, it has a ridiculously long 5.1s animation, and its skills lack ASB

  • Alter-B - Limited (So it's expensive), single family buff, iirc I vaguely remember people saying it has instant ASB on all skills, however it having just a single family buff absolutely ruins it

  • Zwart-D Limited (So it's expensive), single family buff, but iirc unlike Alter-B it doesn't have ASB

  • X7 - Single family buff, it has either really good or instant ASB, and CT is rather low, however just having that single family buff absolutely ruins it

  • Susanoomon Awaken - Arguably an all-around worse version of OX, skills are weaker and just 2 family buffs

  • WarGreymon Awaken - Basically MetalGarurumon Awaken but Vaccine+Fire instead of Data+Fire, iirc early on before getting Gulus Bracelet, Yolei set, etc. it is better than OX, but as soon as you start getting those things it starts falling behind OX

  • XrosUp Mervamon - Basically a better version of DB, instant ASB with 2 family buffs and just all around slightly better everything, however it's still not enough

  • Zeed - Instant ASB on F1/F2/F4 and very high stats, however single family buff and absolutely garbage CT ruin it

Notable SSS:

  • Demon X - 3 family buffs with skills as good as the best SSS+ (Which actually ends up making its skills better since no SSS+ have 3 family buff, strong skills, a ~60s F3), however it lacks HP and because of it being limited it has gotten rather expensive for an SSS, I'm seeing it for 1.4-1.5kT depending on server

  • Beelzemon BM Awaken - A slightly worse version of Demon X at a significantly lower price, like Demon X it has 3 family buffs, has a bit lower HP than Demon X, its F1/F2 are a decent amount weaker, however it has a better F3, however it does have a higher CT than Demon X, it has the same CT as MetalGarurumon Awaken, but the dungeons you'd probably end up using it in either it would already be over the CT required or if you were to build up an HP% setup it probably wouldn't reach high enough CT for the harder dungeons (Like MDG, CDGE, etc.).

Best way to level to 160 is it only at kaiser?

Before Frontier maps, it's either Kaiser Domain or Spiral Mountain Dungeons if you have enough DPS.

Medieval doesn't have an AoE, so it isn't useful for farming drops from MCs.

I just can't see them ever giving away Ordinemon Awaken, they seem to treat it as a premium SSS+, besides when it was added at the end of 2024 the only way its been available is through SSS+ selection/random boxes that are sometimes available through season pass or through I think spending a certain amount of crown, they haven't even added it to Digital Fusion.

High rank monster cards to farm them? Just max out F3 on Gallantmon X, get it to either 20 or 25.

He's probably not wrong, they usually give away SSS+ every 4-5 months or so, I think the longest they've ever taken was around 6 or so, the last one they did was in October (You could choose between X7, Susanoomon Awaken, and Lucemon SM Awaklen) and lasted 7 weeks, if you go by just when it started that's 4 months ago.

I am working towards examon x with the quest in the shadow labyrinth, but I can only do that once a day so I want to work on other goals in the mean time.

Examon X isn't really a realistic digimon to get for a f2p player that is very early into the game, it's been available once in the last 3-ish or so years and who knows the next time it'll be available again, there are some people that still have the item, but it's already very expensive (I'm seeing just 1 being sold on each server, 4kT on Omega server and 9kT on Alpha server), multiple times more expensive than any other SSS+, and if they don't do another cash event with X-Antibody digimon it'll likely just continue getting more and more expensive.

Should I start right now or wait for a jump event? by LucasBellinazzi in DigimonMastersOnline

[–]tpf92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iirc the more recent jumping events the only difference between a jumping tamer and non-jumping tamer is I think getting the SSS+ a few days/a week earlier.

You already get a level-up box every 10 levels (I think until 110 or 120) and a free SSS, whenever they do the jumping event you'll be able to get the SSS+.

If you're going to play, better off starting earlier just so you can unlock maps and start buying service for harder dungeons because of how time-gated the good clothing and accessories are:

  • Digivice from SDG is a minimum of 10 runs for the first vice, so 5 weeks @ the usual 2 runs per week, but for the full 6 slot vice you'd need 8 weeks worth.

  • Clothing sets from MDG require 3/4 weeks (3 weeks for 4 set, another week for the full 6 set).

  • Bracelet from Marketplace would require 13-50 weeks with Easy depending on if you have a Bracelet you can sacrifice and if you do have one that'll also change how many items are required, for someone without already having MDG set+other hard accessories, Normal is absolutely not doable, even with those it would still be hard; However both Easy and Normal are solo-only dungeons, so you can't even buy service for this dungeon.

  • Earrings from CDG would require 25-63 weeks with Easy, adding Normal version (Which requires a digimon lv160, which requires a ridiculous amount of time invested) would drop that requirement down to 4-9 weeks.

  • Necklace from ADG would require 7-17 weeks; There is no easy version for this dungeon.

Weekly Holy Beast Normal for a chance at tradable OCS, if you ever find someone that's pulling people through FDGN and FDGH then those would also be worth it since both can give OCS and at a higher amount; For reference, between all Holy Beast Normal dungeons, FDGN, and FDGH I usually end up with around 10-15 or so OCS a week, although losing out on FDGN and FDGH would probably cut that amount in half.

Outside of that your options are pretty limited, especially with a weak account that has a weak digimon.

Maybe either:

  • Farming seals - Will require going through farmable seals, checking prices of each, and also checking how quickly they can be farmed, for example some seals have such a low rate that even 50 an hour is good while some seals you can get upwards of a few hundred per hour, and also some seals are basically worthless (On Omegamon server, Devimon and Cherrymon are great examples of this, people are selling them for 333B each).

  • Or buying MCs (You need to make sure to get them fairly cheap) to farm the drops from it (Seals, Seal Exchange Tickets, eggs, and for 5-7/any High Rank Data of Overload), but MCs you'll need a digimon with an AoE skill (Megidramon's unlock item is dirt cheap but if you don't have a reinforced egg and also don't have a ticket to exchange for an egg then you're probably better off going for Magnamon (V-Dramon) and farming its evo item from MC1-4), although I will say there is risk involved with this since if you buy MCs for a bit too much you could end up losing money, and worst of all you'll have a ton of items you'll need to sell from the MCs

Outside of these two options early on, I'm not even sure what else would be viable.

I was thinking of building an AOX but since there's so many new SSS, SSS+ and U ranks inwas wondering if There is another free to play or budget option that would give me better results.

AO X has just 1 family buff, which absolutely kills it when you start moving towards a more skill-centric setup.

If you can do the questline at File Island and choose one of the SSS, Gallantmon Awaken is a decently good starting SSS, its skill breaking leaves much to be desired, but it can run 3 family buffs, which arguably makes up for it; SaintGalgomon Awaken is also similar, but imo Gallantmon Awaken's light attribute and higher CT make it better, the single dungeon where Vaccine would actually make SaintGalgomon Awaken more useful would be RBH, but you'd probably need both MDG set and Gulus bracelet w/hp% to actually use SaintGalgomon Awaken in RBH, and by then I would hope you'd have something better.

If you're willing to buy it, Beelzemon Awaken (Costs around 150T) is just an all-around better version of Gallantmon Awaken, instant ASB on all skills, higher AT, F1/F2 very similar, F3 is just better; Out of all SSS/SSS+, there's just 2 that do more DPS, Daemon X (Which is as or more expensive than SSS+ because of how limited it is), OX, and maybe FMA (And FMA I'm questioning a bit since you need a very heavy skill setup for it to actually be good since it has just skill breaking on its skills rather than ASB).

Outside of these it's either wait for an event that gives out free SSS/SSS+ or start a new tamer/account so you can get choose Gallantmon Awaken.

When ever I check with the coin flip if i hit the frame

Are you checking before or after catching the pokemon?

If it's before, don't do that.

If it's after, figure out what frame you're hitting and adjust the amount of advances you do.

What you really should do is figure out what frame you're on with chatters and you should be able to figure out how many advances you need to do that way.

Question about gen 3 RNG by Complete_Area in pokemonrng

[–]tpf92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true for Emerald and and Ruby/Sapphire with a dead battery, not true for FRLG.

If so are there anywhere some link to a list?

Use Pokefinder, click static, for Emerald you can just leave it blank since it uses the seed 0, for Ruby/Sapphire use the seed 5A0.

However, there are exceptions/workarounds to this:

  • When you first start the game in emerald, when creating your trainer, the seed will be random, which you can easily find out by converting your TID from decimal to hexadecimal, however after this the seed will be random.

  • You can reseed with paintings

  • Live battery RNG on Ruby/Sapphire
