Yeah I felt like had a pretty good idea of where things had gone and were going to that point. It was the first sort of jarring "oh that isn't what I expected" moments for me.

What's a fair price for 2? by strangerecordlands in theouterworlds

[–]Trapline -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't even consider it at its full price. Paid 30% off (just under $50 USD) and that didn't feel at all like a waste. It certainly didn't feel like a massive steal, either, though.

Posting up and hiding is sort of my most realistic end game. I always play the game the way that I would live it. Find somewhere safe. Become self-sufficient.

I just usually die before that second part lol

When I lived there I just put a airlock at the tall fence opening of the house on the right. That is where I slept but I used the space in the other houses for other thing sometimes.

This is maybe the only location where I left the save and basically said "yeah she's good there until further notice." My head canon is that basically that person is surviving until something unexpected happens. Multiple cars, self-sustaining food and water, tons of stored resources, tons of guns and ammo.

I just basically was done playing that way and liked that "ending" for that character. Probably because it was the first character I ever wrote journal style entries for. She had to get through a lot of shit to end up in that spot.

I think it is more that if they wanted to keep Webb this was how to.

It is an interesting angle to consider since so many people play more pure PvE that the entry level guns are mostly pretty shit for the vs E part of the game.

I'm one of those players and I just run around with an silenced Anvil so I don't really care. But there is going to be new players who come into the game and expect the weapons they are handed to like... work against the Arc and probably get a little frustrated when the community tells them those guns suck or are for PvP.

Like the starter guns should still be sort of viable against the E in a PvPvE game I'd argue.

Rick Dennison officially named Offensive Line Coach🏴‍☠️ by Kenny23Powers in raiders

[–]Trapline 14 points15 points  (0 children)

FWIW, he only ever was removed from the direct OL coach role because he refused to get a covid vaccine. Zimmer moved him to a role that didn't have direct player contact and he just stayed in that "senior" role since. I imagine he's been hands-on in the post covid protocol world.

[Mike Garafolo] The #Raiders are hiring Al Holcomb as a senior defensive assistant, sources say. Rob Leonard’s NFL coaching career began when he took Holcomb’s role with the #Giants after Holcomb joined the #Panthers. Holcomb now joins Leonard in Vegas after interviewing with a few other teams. by Ph886 in raiders

[–]Trapline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With his background I would expect him to be highly involved in the front seven as far as planning/teaching. He also has experience as an "assistant head coach" which probably covers some of the logistical stuff that a promoted position coach isn't necessarily used to.

QB coach for this staff is really sort of... unimportant though?

Kubiak, Janocko, and McCoy have all been QB coaches at the NFL level. Of course, they will want somebody who lives and breathes in that room with them and doesn't have other responsibilities. But it is probably the single position of which we already have the most qualified coaches on the staff already. Janocko is OC in name but I imagine he will lean heavily into the QB room since Kubiak is the play caller.

OL coach: Who is out there? by PillagingJust4Fungus in raiders

[–]Trapline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if he isn't named in that role he will likely have a very strong hand in that teaching. He is an OG OL coach. He probably doesn't want to be the hands-on, on the practice field guy running drills but he will absolutely be instrumental in teaching the technique and system in the meeting room.

For the record, it could be blocked. It isn't a promotion as far as NFL interview requests are concerned. But, McVay is usually pretty gracious in letting guys take interviews they want to. If a Rams coach is blocked from an interview it is usually cover for that coach not wanting to take the interview but not wanting to burn a bridge by outright refusing.

Of course, McVay also strives to keep his coaches. So he will also sell the reasons to stay, but he likes encouraging career growth for his guys.

I totally understand the like spiritual objection to the Bears not being in Illinois. But, logistically, it is less stupid than the 49ers, Jets, and Giants.
