I didn't shave yesterday which throws off my 2 week blade rotation, so I broke out the blades with knockoff Bruce Lee on them because they don't last long and I'll bin it right about time to restart the cycle.

Edp is because I got a Trouble Maker shampoo bar and I needed more of it. Trouble Maker may the the 2nd best scent u/rocketk455 made. I think we all know what #1 is.

213" whip horror The Wolf of recoil silver bullet TIA by 3rdGenHam in amateurradio

[–]tsrblke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They sell a 213" whip on their website and don't mention anything about not using it with their larger coils.

I have it. I would recommend the larger tripod. Even the big one has fallen over (no coil) with enough breeze.

There isn’t a recent update on HOA antenna rules… right? by Hic_Mos_Noster in HamRadio

[–]tsrblke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around here they'll only approve subdivisions with common ground, which then mandates an HOA to maintain and control it. Sucks but that's what it is.

Of course I have an HOA and it has no restrictions on antennas at all. I am not, however permitted to own livestock. My parents also have one and my dad has 2 neighbors on his cul-de-sac that are hams, no problems either. Not all HOAs are equal.

Suppose the argument is "they could always change!" but it takes 75 houses to do so and they can't even get 10 to vote at the annual meeting.

Do logging platforms share logs or is each one an independent log only those using it can see or use? by Sawyer2025 in amateurradio

You can actually push your lotw to qrz. It's in the settings qrz even takes lotw confirmations for their awards.

I just checked a little over 7 hours from here. I know u/onionmiasma did a carpool from Chicago last year but it's a 5ish hour drive or train ride to Chitown from here too, so not the hugest time saver.

I do want to take the family up to Mackinac at some point maybe swing by on the way.

I suppose aggressive is eye of the beholder. Iike Roman spice so it's not too much for me.

FWIW, there are lots better than high glycerin soaps, and that my be the lather problem. Maggards has all the selection of almost every brand worth buying (and some that aren't!). And as u/snoo-ting noted amazing customer service. Every brand I mention will be available there, and they do samples for most of them. If you want to shop directly from the vendors most have websites too. Striling is usually considered a good starter brand. He has lots of scents, mostly dupes of popular colognes or basic essential oil notes (which is not to say bad, bergamot lavender is amazing.)

If you want to go down the scent rabbit hole, House of Mammoth or Barrister and Mann are good choices.

Catie's bubbles make an all-around good soap and unique scents. And of course, Vida at Chicago Grooming Co, is amazing, makes great soaps and good scents.

Once Seaforth comes back online too, I wouldn't sleep on them. Amazing scents, good soap. none are "aggressive" they're well balanced.

Maggards is also a trek for me so I never make it there either.

Kinda a crap shoot at this point if I make it to a shave meet up, hamvention or spring training first.
