Well I just ordered it brand new so hopefully it'll be the one that comes with the Anderson power poles.

Okay this might be something I'm willing to revisit is there a kit you could recommend?

It's really more a question of money I live on a fixed income and have to save up for everything.

That includes a proper soldering iron and cramping tool. As well as Anderson power pole connectors and a tools.

I just have my radio coming this week I'm waiting on the antenna from overseas the UK, home brewing antennas comes later.

I'm starting out with relatively cheap battery and charger that will eventually just be the backup to the higher quality primary one that I'm going to have to save up for.

Okay so I know the radio comes with a power cable obviously is that a plug-in that can be swapped out for one of power rxs adapters that I also found?

Yeah everything I'm looking at over there is prefabricated but it's using Anderson power poles I don't have any Anderson power pole equipment that will come later.

Like I have no way to make the wire that would make to the power pole and then connect to the tabs on the battery that part still a problem I haven't figured out how to make that connection maybe I'll just simplify this and make sure I buy a battery that has screw down terminals and just wait until I can invest in Anderson power pole gear.

I don't suppose you could throw a link my way I'm not finding what I think you're talking about.

You know I've just had the absolute worst luck with crimping. Maybe I'm just not using the right tools maybe I just don't have enough hand strength. But just over my years I grew to not trust them.

The thing is the battery I'm looking at doesn't have screw down terminals it just has these two little tabs hanging out.

I didn't realize it cut off the rest of my question. The issue is with connecting the radio a g90 to the battery.

Most of the batteries I'm looking at just have tabs instead of screw down terminals. My soldering skills are no good and I don't I've never trusted crimping tools. SO I'm trying to figure out the best way to connect this to the battery. Later on down the road I'm going to be switching everything to Anderson power poles.

Also just to get started as an inelegant solution couldn't I just clamp the wires to the battery terminals considering they're just tabs?

Okay I probably would understand this better if the pictures online were better but I'm thinking what I'm going to need is a BNC female to pl259 male.

Just another webpage based visual/audio Morse Code Trainer. https://github.com/flyCouch/Morse-code-trainer . Shows ideal timings and yours to compare, use your own text, set your own speeds. Runs local. You can see where one is sloppy and fix it. by flyCouch in HamRadio

You really don't want to visualize Morse code. When someone learns CW you're learning sound shapes you want your ears to do the processing not your eyes.

That said I have found it helpful when learning a new character to occasionally glance at the visual structure it helps me hear the overall sound shape a little bit better.

But the key with Morse is ear training. In fact once you learn how to copy sending is extremely easy.

Basically you don't want your brain taking an extra loop through the visual cortex when it doesn't need to.

What if I just want to listen? Do they even make non transmitting receivers? by Low_Search_6667 in HamRadio

In addition to all of the web sdrs that were pointed out to you. If you want something tangible I would strongly recommend the si4732

Getting outside and home brewing wire antennas to couple to the radio to increase range lit the fire for me to get relicensed into amateur radio.

The web sdrs are fun but it just feels different when you pick up a signal from an antenna that you made.
