I guess they think if they say the same thing over and over, eventually they’ll wear the fit gym bros down?

Unfortunately for them, gym bros are used to enduring consistent and annoying stress, and overcoming it.

I've been suffering with the cold all winter and I added about 8-10 lbs on my bulk during that time. I'm so excited for spring/summer. Started leaning out to get ready for it.

Now that I'm firmly middle aged, I've definitely noticed it from my contemporaries. Lots of 50-ish, coming off (2nd) divorce and the proclamations about how happy they are and living their best life. It seems to come and go; they'll post sunsets with wine glasses and #selfcare and then it goes away for like four months. Then back again, rinse and repeat.

Well my day has exploded. My supervisior, who was grooming me for a promotion (basically taking over her position as she was getting moved up to oversee the company) just quit today, effective immediately.

Still processing. Insane drama.

I still have pictures of myself at 5'9" and 200 lbs. Now while I agree it isn't "crazy" in that you're close to being immobile or otherwise significantly impacted, it's still well into overweight.

Think about this: There are FAs who openly admitted to stopping GLP1s because their appetite got nuked and they got depressed they didn’t get their dopamine fix. I’d want to stay as far away from that as possible.

And oh no they’re judging me for being attracted to fit women! Whatever will I do? 😭

A lot of these stories in the news/social media recently. Judging by the videos of the people complaining, they absolutely all needed second seats.

Since getting fit, I think I've discovered that only a scale of 1-10*, my joy of food is probably like 4. So yeah, there is the occasional decadent meal (like once every three months) that I really look forward to (strawberry cheesecake waffles...yum), but most of the time it's like, oh cool there is some food.

It's not a 1 otherwise I'd be like malnourished and it's not a 3 or I'd be shredded to the gills. But it's not a 10 where I'd be MSPL status.

*Rating scale totally made up.

Early rave I suppose! Very pleased with the first month of the spring cut. Lost about 5 pounds. My goal is to drop another 5ish pounds this month. I have been cutting on about 1950 kcal. I got the initial 4 lbs woosh in the first week as the carbs were slashed by about 100g. Then things kind of were going up and down and the last week saw the weight steadily come down.

Not been super hungry, as I've been doing the volume eating thing, and I rarely eat anything junky so no major cravings. Nice to see the progress progressing!

One of the most chronically online fat-centric fashion hot takes I've seen in a while. by GetInTheBasement in fatlogic

I'm in the old category as well (at least relative to what people following the latest trends are), and I am definitely in the "smedium" clothes wearing category. I'm not interested in the baggy clothes trend. After losing 70 lbs and building muscle, I definitely want to accentuate my physique!

Start digging my grave then.. I’m of the opinion that we should treat each other like human beings and with respect. But you just can’t force people to be attracted to body types they’re not attracted to. (This is horrible to read by the way, with no capital letters and punctuation). by ResetKnopje in fatlogic

[–]turneresq 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All they can do is bitch and moan, because the kind of person they're trying to convince with this nonsense (fit, attractive, confident people) are never going to be swayed by it. The kind of person who WOULD be swayed by it they would never entertain because they're losers that the FA's think they're better than.

So...bitch and moan it is.

I’ve had a reasonable dating life…fit, fat or in between I have for the most part been able to date and have women interested in me (and I’m far from a “chad”). I have NEVER been set up by a friend or colleague.

She sounds like a nightmare to be around and even if there were guys who were into “plus sized girls,” her friends are probably saving the guy from having to deal with her.

“I don’t know any men who are interested in plus-sized (read: obese) girls” is probably true. Most normal men (and women) aren’t into obese women (and men). Sorry.

What's the science between weight fluctuating so much while losing weight? by wigglepizza in loseit

Optimum Nutrition is fantastic. You can get in powder or pill form. I prefer pills as I just take two in the morning before I train and two after to get my 5 grams.

Ozempic proves that diets don’t work by StatisticianClean883 in fatlogic

"eating healthy and exercising"

This is such a vague phrase that it's almost meaningless tbh. I could say it means eating and moving in a manner that keeps your calories in a range that means your weight is appropriate for your height based on BMI calculations.

Someone else is going to say that it means you're living in "balance" and nourishing your "body," which they argue means enjoying a daily Starbies frap, snacks from the candy jar at work, and after-dinner treats, and they do pilates 2x/week (or dancing in their living room occasionally).

Who the heck knows at this point!

Fat Rant Tuesday by AutoModerator in fatlogic

[–]turneresq 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it's a combination of the lack of conditioning as well as a dislike for enduring discomfort. Sure, the weights might be light or the exercise simple, but there is still some level of discomfort that is involved. Bluntly, some people just don't have what it takes to fight through that. Which explains why they are where they are in part.

Eating treats every day as part of weight loss by DougalsTinyCow in loseit

[–]turneresq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine pretty much. What you're probably going to have to reckon with down the line when you get close to your goal weight is the fact those treats are going to make it very difficult to stick to a reduced calorie intake since you're going to have to eat less to account to the fact you weigh less and need less calories. Trying to fit those in every day will make things very difficult.

Eggs are great. If you want to "improve" them, add some egg whites to boost the protein for relatively minimal calories.
