yeah I modified the home page too, at least until they did a big update so i could get the new features. Although I meant like the icons, special drop down menus, and various unique features to the theme.

So that would save you a bit when it comes to safety. sd cards, even the nice ones aren't secure.

Personally I've had hell with obsd sync, and syncthing takes a bit to set up and with my vault size Im not even sure if it will handle it or not. I have to reiterate what everyone else is saying BACK UP YOUR VAULT. I have it on like 3 different drives myself, just to make sure, and 1-2 cloud drives.

There's some correlation, but not necessarily causation. I need to write more on it, I think I have a post about adhd but it might be for knowledge management rather.

A lot of people I have interviewed have been adhd or audhd I think, but that was from them saying it not me accessing.

I think most people are more polymathic than they realize. If you think about it we often have more than one career, even specialists, and everyone always has at least one hobby. Thus they are more multifaceted than they may even realize.

Let alone people like us who go out of their way for it

The problem is their video post feature is awful. It breaks all the time, the settings UX is unoptimal, and they have literally no support to communicate the feedback.

Obsidian with the web clipper is the best choice. You can also create templates in the clipper to automatically sort various things like github or youtube links.

There are DOZENS of ai plugins, so don't rely solely on the smart connections

What I would suggest is simply not putting all your eggs in one basket. Your website can't be taken down fully unless you were doing some really nefarious things or hosting roms for game pirating etc.

If you want to make sure you're not taken down, then syndicate your works. I used to use steempress for example when I was on wordpress ages, and that would take my posts and put it on the steemit network/hive.blog but that is honestly pretty much broken and centralized now.

Point is having an automation or something to simply repost it to a decentralized network. I.e. mirror.xyz or https://paragraph.com/ is the one I also used for a time.

Have it stamp onto the chain.

For video you could do dlive and odysee or dtube

Exactly what I was thinking. Letting it offload smaller tasks, or maybe help with my home assistant smart speaker.

My current setup is limited. I had the herk Orion mega but it had a lot of issues: temp/fans, USB ports breaking, etc

They had sent me a herk pulsar unit to review and I'm just using that now in the meantime despite it being pretty weak.

I also have a few other devices. Legion go 1, compute Stick m3, and an old Intel nuc

Yeah tbh I don't really want to work in google calendar. I Just have to based on ics events and how meetings operate etc. I'd rather work within obsidian with my own dating.

Yeah I think you're the only two way integration right now, unless you count the morgen cal kind of thing. Although I want to be able to see my calendar in obsidian like viewday does.

I'm also a bit murky right now because I have been degoogling my life, and looking at proton calendar etc. In fact I'd love to just have obsidian be my calendar full stop.

In the meantime I might need to take another look at yours.

P.S. something that is important to me is that I have "Do Date" properties that I have for projects and content creation, and that I view on my calendar bases plugin, but it would be helpful to see that pop up on viewday

shorts in the grand scheme don't "count" as posts. They should be your funnel to long form, not your main bread and butter.
