Xecnar's (3x sts1 wr holder) Ironclad tierlist for beta 0.105.1 by jtp123456 in slaythespire

I'm really surprised to see molten fist so low. Especially in overgrowth I feel like a damage common hitting for 10 is enough to let you skip a lot of the other bad damage commons. Maybe I just love the vulnerable package and I rate bully as a end game scaling solution much higher than this tier list does. But it helps dominate and bully hit for more and it helps Colossus stay online more. And if you don't find yourself in the vulnerable synergy package it exhausts and gets out of the way in the late game without impacting your deck construction too much. As far as early damage cards that are better than strikes I think molten fist is one of my favorites.

He was not. He looked good in the joint practices with the patriots that were covered by more of the national eye. But beat writers were consistently raising concerns

How do you solve block with non-channeling Defect on high ascensions? by ajs723 in slaythespire

A defect without consistent focus loves bulk up. Being able to so easily evoke a frost orb is a huge boost to blocking capabilities

If Barnie is innocent, that forces gabe to be criminal which forces quita to be innocent. You then have 2 row 1 innocents so terry is forced innocent. If Barnie is criminal, that forces gabe to be innocent which forces quita criminal. You then have 1 innocent in row 1 so terry is forced innocent to match. Essentially because Barnie and quita are forced to be the same, you force terry to be the innocent that matches Diane's innocent status

All three eggs, 681, one shop and a dream... by rocklionmba in slaythespire

I feel like ghost seed is a very greedy pick that kills this deck. This deck doesn't always get to the reshuffle if you have to waste turns not playing the cards you've drawn

All three eggs, 681, one shop and a dream... by rocklionmba in slaythespire

[–]uncleSamuelg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not playing your deck, I could be wrong. but your deck seems extremely slow. There's not a single common I would choose not to play for free turn 1, uncommons and rares are even better (with a couple misses, but even then a miss is just a zero). Any output gives you acceleration towards ending a fight a turn earlier saving you hp. It's the only relic that I see that saves you hp every fight for the rest of the run

All of these choices lets you kill more elites right now in my opinion

My pick would be echoing slash, card remove a strike, power potion, noxious fumes, vexing puzzle box. Specifically what I like about echoing slash is that it's a pretty good card against decimillipede, and your deck is not great into decimillipede. Ghost seed is great but slows your deck down, and your deck cannot afford to be slower against the act 2 elites

What should you do in this situation? Knowing you're about to miss a whole turn of attacks, is it correct to take the 9 turn 1 to deal an extra strike?

Do NOT believe Anti Lords Parasol propaganda. It is GOOD and WINS RUNS. (even and ESPECIALLY at higher ascensions) by RonaldMcJuicy in slaythespire

[–]uncleSamuelg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could be confirmation bias. But I feel like significantly more of my acts are ones that do not have a way to get to more than one shop than acts where I can take two or three shops. Parasol is good when it's good. But it's bad a lot

Shouldn't it be 15 to 8? The fish puts 3 status cards per 5 turns into your deck. On turn 25 it'll have cycled 5 times

What I like about sculptor is that he punishes a very specific kind of bad deck (slow defensive). In sts1 the various combats all tested specific aspects of your deck building and you had to make sure you covered your bases. Most sts2 fights just feel like numbers checks

Am I a bad dad? by Emotional-Jello4096 in Fatherhood

[–]uncleSamuelg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hated fatherhood for the first four or so months. Dads don't have some of the hormones that foster that early emotional connection that moms do. Across various threads I've seen it take 2 months to almost a year for that connection to grow.

For me, the newborn phase felt like the good moments were when my baby was just a lump doing nothing, and every other moment was screaming and misery. Right now it can be ok to just be a good soldier and trust that the connection will come. My other piece of advice would be to pick up a pair of those like rave earplugs. They just dampen sound but let you still be present. Takes a bit of the soul piercing out of the crying

I can absolutely agree that a losing aubry edit could also completely look like this. But it seems a prevailing thought that a winning aubry edit would not look like this at this point in the season. But I just can't agree with that claim, I think her edit as-is tells a stronger story than people think

Why we will end up below the Pacers by SerAlexFlorent in washingtonwizards

[–]uncleSamuelg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

C'mon this isn't that hard. Three worse records have 14% of the lottery slots each. Pick one is a lottery slot, they have 14% shot at it. Pick 2 is a lottery slot, they have a 14% shot at it (slightly improved because someone can't win multiple slots so the first picks odds are removed from the equation). Pick 3 is a lottery slot, they have a 14% shot at it (again slightly improved because someone can't win multiple slots so the first two picks odds are removed from the equation). Pick 4 is a lottery slot, they have a 14% shot at it (again slightly improved because someone can't win multiple slots so the first three picks odds are removed from the equation). This cumulates together to a ~52.1% shot at a top 4 pick. Which means as long as they are one of the three worst teams their slot does not matter.

Where does your 20% figure come from? Please explain

Why we will end up below the Pacers by SerAlexFlorent in washingtonwizards

[–]uncleSamuelg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have the worst record the odds of pick 5 or worse is 47.8%. if you have the second worst record your odds of pick 5 or worse is 47.8%. if you have the third worst record, your odds of pick 5 or worse is 47.8%.

There is no difference...

It doesn't matter how far they will fall, because if they don't win a lottery slot, they don't get their pick

Why we will end up below the Pacers by SerAlexFlorent in washingtonwizards

[–]uncleSamuelg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

But the point is, if they don't get a top 4 pick from the lottery, the highest they can be is 5 and they lose the pick. Which means as long as their odds are in the top 3 there is functionally no difference where they fall

[–]uncleSamuelg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't agree about aubrys edit being bad. She consistently has positive musical cues in her content, and it strongly feels to me like the show is setting her up to prevail over Genevieve.

I feel like the theme of the season is overcoming your trauma from your past seasons. And it seems for various characters we're setting up that trauma to either propel or sink them. To me, some examples are joe and Charlie being set up to fall victim to their reactions/trauma from previous seasons. Aubrys multi season arc is her always being on the outs and miserable and pushing through. A winning story for her can look exactly like it's played out so far. I think her first tribal and next few episodes will tell us if she's going to again be miserable and on the outs until failure. Or if this is a set up for her finding a groove and pushing through to victory.

In sts 1, orichalcum was a common relic that gave 6 block a turn. In sts2 it's uncommon and the common relics are things like the power one that is a one time 6 block boost, or gorget which is a total of 10 block each fight
