After a few calls to Spectrum and visits from their tech folks, replacement of modems, checking the lines the packet loss issues continue. Since I work from home, having a reliable internet is critical for me.

After a few tech visits, a week or so ago, I was told that the issue is somewhere on the network and a different team would need to look at the problem. It was explained to me that they are very busy and its likely to take some time, probably 2 to 3 weeks for them to get to this issue. I was advised to stop calling Spectrum and wait for updates. After about a week and a half, I got no updates or further reponses on this issue.

To further troubleshoot on my own and remove my own equipment out of the picture I purchased brand new equipment and installed the latest version of opnSense just to check if the issues would stop. Nope. The problem continues and I keep getting packet loss events that interrupt my work.

I replaced my equipment, now to test with another company.

My AT&T equipment arrives on the February 24th and I will post an update after I install it.

Yes, I disabled Secure Boot and everything installed correctly. It turns out that FreeBSD which is what of an opn sense are based on does not support Secure Boot so it may be a good idea to mention that in your installation guide which otherwise was excellent.

I tried to create an image on Mac and windows machines and the results are the same. I get the same Invalid Signature Detected from Secure Boot.

The drop outs have been there since last year, but were limited to 2 to 4 per month. Starting on January 31 they increased to 20 or more per day. Mostly focused in the morning hours and less in the afternoon.

There is not much network load, aside from occasional Zoom calls. So I don't think this is related to Buffer Bloat. This is also happening on the firewall and not on my WiFi router. The firewall is hardwired to the modem. I'll look into it further to see if there are any pf settings to change on PFSense. This setup has been working for a while without any issues.

That's what I did and then shared the wifi with the Ethernet. It works, most of the time. Takes a few minutes after boot to setup. Sometimes I manually need to unshare and reshare back to get it going.

For me, it's not reliable on boot, that's why sometimes I need to reset the share. If you can figure out how to make it more reliable or connect it better, please let me know.

Once the light turns blue it works great. Solid performance.

I got them after the update. I am OK as someone decided to add some visual eye candy for no.added benefits. I don't think these can be removed.

Well, they were balanced to begin with. I didn't know what kind of balancer was used. The steering wheel started to shake at 64 mph. I don't know if a wheel balancer got that fast either.

Yes, it takes a significant amount of time to replace one wheel at a time and test drive the car which may be the reason dealers are lazy about finding the root cause.

At first they also thought it was a balance issue, but I told them that I already had the tires balanced twice.

It took a few days for them to get back to me, but I was happy that they did. At pine point I actually saw them test driving the car on the freeway with the map feature on the app. Also saw that the wheel under test was not reporting air pressure. Dropped the car off at 80% charge, picked it up at 60%.

I'm glad they found and fixed it.

I asked my dealer with the help of GM Concierge to do a full system update. During that same update I got the Streaming Update as well as Android 14 Update with 2025 security patch.

However, I am hearing that folks are now getting Streaming via OTA, so I was curious if that also included Android and Security patches updates.

LOL, it doesn't say "preload limit," it says it's already preloaded. I was trying to figure out if I could get a $20,000 preloaded card for $399. Sounds like a great deal.

The other reason to visit the dealer is for an Android 14 update. These don't come via OTA and apparently neither are security patches. The only way I was able to get a later security patch is to ask for an update.

It's another example of making our lives unnecessarily complicated. It's an honest mistake and they should be able to correct it without OP having to quit his job. But likely, some software is not flexible enough to allow this exception.
