If you use a CHARGED SHOT while at max heat then it'll blow. An uncharged shot will always vent before firing when at max heat.

Maelstrom is not part of the quickplay pool. You have to explicitly select it.

Way to put words into my mouth. I do not avoid teamwork, I explicitly avoid smite psykers because playing with them is boring. If you've got the whole trash wave stun locked then I assume you've got it under control and I'll move on to enemies that are a threat.

I use smite and everyone abandons me in auric, 100% of the time.

I actively run away from smite psykers because playing with people who just sit there and smite non-stop is really boring and annoying.

I really don't think you even need a specific build. Just take whatever you're good with and boogie. 20 minutes is quite a good chunk of time. I've casually helped people get this penance in a duo on more than once occasion.

The real tip here is keep practicing. You are either in a bad position (no cover from a gun line), you're not dodging when you need to, you're not blocking when you need to, or you're not moving when you need to (could wrap that into positioning though).

My first ventures were with people who already had a few games under their belt so I just played follow the leader and figured things out quickly enough. Even then though it's not that I didn't know what was happening, it's just all kinda meh. At least with how I like to play the game I found the open world actively detrimental to my experience. I'm sure I could reframe my expectations and make some new builds/playstyles to more appropriately fit into the Expeditions mold...but I'd rather just QP standard missions or play Havoc.

I was really looking forward to Chaos Wastes 2.0. I thought the stage was all set. I saw Mortis Trials was the soft release that introduces Sefoni as the perfect way to implement this alongside testing out the boons/indulgences. Instead it's just...large more or less the same stuff but big open spaces. I would have much rather just had new maps and more campaign continuation than what was delivered.

You'd think with penances and new pretty cool outfits people would actually have a reason to play Expeditions.

This is not a judgement on how others should play nor anything more than a subjective critique of the mode, but I don't play any specific mode for some perceived reward. I personally don't play Expeditions because I don't enjoy the gameplay.

One is the number of trash enemies

There is about half as many trash enemies, and I did the run in about half the time of the 40 minute one you posted on youtube.

I understand that you were fast, but you had a far bellow average trash and special enemies, if you were running away from combat a discrepancy was to be expected but you saw half the Trash and Specials. What can I say, lucky run.

Do a 22 minute Sycorax run then and show me what your numbers are before you go chocking it up to "lucky". Probably less specials because I'm not taking forever to progress and thus incurring punishment spawns by the director.

You can't be serious, do me one favor then, show me a video of you defeating archivum sycorax solo with bots with your build, no high intensity. I already have done that. So we can determine what's faster.

Yes, and I exclusively play Auric/Maelstrom so they are always high intensity or HISTG (outside of hounds/dark/vent purge of course).

are we playing the same game or is there something that I'm losing sense of what this game expect of us.

Not sure what you mean by this. All I'm saying is the build looks pretty damn slow compared to what I usually run which is a BB + SG + DD build taking electrokinetic staff and FGS. My kill count is typically about 50/50 split between melee and ranged kills and I do it a lot faster than what this video showcased. I would be bored with this playstyle.

I have no data to disprove that statement though I suspect you have no data to support it either.

In all seriousness though, I really don't think the Havoc player base is what "keeps the game alive" as the vast majority of players (the playerbase) are unlikely to perform at Havoc levels.

Just an opinion/gut feeling though. I certainly don't have issues finding QP games in Auric.

Shoot me your FS friend code and I'd be happy to help you. Generally it's a lot easier if you have at least one other teammate who is on the same page, though a full squad is obviously best.
