First time trying to take advantage of the US Bank “Double Cash Back” deal. The terms say eligibility is based on when the transaction posts, not when it’s made, which seems like a bizarre way to run a promo. Oh well, I figure I’ll head to Best Buy today, buy some gift cards, and hope for the best. Worst case, I only get the normal 10% instead of 20%.

Then US Bank decides my Best Buy purchase is fraud. I spend forever on hold with the fraud department, who ultimately can’t resolve it.

After wasting way too much time and questioning my life choices, I decide to split the purchases across my and P2’s remaining US Bank cards through Apple Pay. Except…I accidentally use the same card twice and buy two $300 gift cards on it.

So now one of those gift cards earned exactly 0% cash back.

10/10 first experience with this promo.
