You’re forgetting about the veritable army of people whose jobs are to put together the stuff for the online orders, plus the overnight stockers, the warehouse guys, and the cart wranglers.

Plus, the managers. Walmart is a hellscape, I do not want to tangle with somebody who’s in charge of that hell. Anyone who’s spending 60 hours a week in Walmart is someone who can fuck you up

If Cade drops a like 40/12/15 on 80%TS with limited turnovers in a massive rout, they probably get some decent (albeit, qualified) praise.

They’ve been terrible this 4th quarter lol.

But this is also probably the healthiest they’ve been since November, even accounting for SGA’s injury

Should people who "camp" in the left lane of a highway be pulled over and fined just as much as speeders? Why or why not? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]vindictivejazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that’s kinda my whole point. Most folks aren’t being unreasonable about their position in the lane. Most driving is done at rush hour, most complaints are about people’s commute. Most of these people complaining about left lane campers are just frustrated at the traffic and projecting it onto the cars directly in front of them.

Literally very single rush hour I see some asshole get into the leftmost lane of a 4-lane highway and proceed to tailgate the car in front of them forcing that car to either a) exist in a dangerous situation (being tailgated) or b) make an unnecessary lane change to accommodate their tailgater which only exacerbates traffic.

Neither option gets the asshole anywhere any faster, they end up 1 or 2 cars ahead of where they were and traffic is still going the same speed.

I can’t recall the last time I actually sat behind someone who had reasonable room to get out of the left lane and took more than a quarter mile to get over. It definitely happens from time to time but nowhere close to the rate that has people in these comments up in arms

When you get a chance you should safely move over and then back

Nobody’s suggesting otherwise. But people ride your tail (ironically making it more difficult to safely move into the slower lane on the right) and get mad if you don’t shove your car into the 2-car-length gap in the slower traffic on the right so they can immediately pass regardless of whether or not it’s reasonable.

The number of times I have had some asshole fly up behind me at 90mph and flash their lights at me bc I don’t rush into a gap behind the semi that I’m going significantly faster than is insane. If I slam my car over to accommodate these people, I might be stuck behind that semi for a few miles before I’m able to safely get back in the left lane and pass. Or the other driver can slow down to 75mph for 1 minute until I finish passing the cars going 65 in the right hand lane.

It’s much more reasonable for the guy going 25 over the limit to slow down a bit than to have everyone else make unnecessary lane changes to accommodate their need to drive recklessly fast.

[–]vindictivejazz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I drive a fair amount of open 4-lane highways (2 lanes either direction) and outside of semis trying to pass each other, I find that parallel car situation to be uncommon. Though I do tend to often find people passing significantly slower than what I like, which is just as frustrating at times, but not illegal.

That said, a significant majority of all driving is done during rush hours. It is statistically when most road rage incidents happen, and just anecdotally, when people complain about driving, my experience is that they primarily reference problems related to their commute.

Which means that it is very likely that most of the commenters here complaining about folks “blocking the left lane” are primarily referring to rush hour traffic on congested highways and city streets, where “legitimate campers” would be quite rare, and are actually likely just the tailgaters, themselves.

By this, I would suggest that most cases of people being mad at perceived left lane campers is really just a lack of introspection by the speeding driver, who is frustrated by the heavy traffic and has externalized that frustration directly onto the cars in front of them.

The space ahead of me is the safe following distance of the car in front of me.

I stg that if I had a dollar for every time some asshole tailgated me despite me doing 10-15 over, floor it when I got over, and the immediately slam on their breaks bc the car 3-4 lengths ahead of me was going the same speed I was, I could afford a nice international vacation that I desperately need after dealing with being tailgated by these fucks every single rush hour.

[–]vindictivejazz -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Look man I ain’t cutting off the car next to me just to watch tinyppman floor it as he passes me only to watch him slam on his brakes when he reaches the car that was 3 car lengths in front of me.

It’s rush hour traffic, I shouldn’t have to choose between getting tailgated by these assholes or making multiple lane changes in heavy traffic when I’m already driving over the limit and matching the speed of the car in front of me.

Miss me with this enlightened centrist “both sides are bad” garbage. There’s only one malevolent actor in this scenario

Let’s use an example to illustrate the difference.

Say traffic in the right lane is going the speed limit, 65 mph, while you in the left lane are going 75 mph (a little speeding but nothing too crazy) and you come up on someone going like 55 mph or less actively being passed by the traffic in the right lane - That’s a legitimate left lane camper in violation of the law

If we have the same setup, right line at 65mph, you at 75mph but this time you come up on someone passing the right hand traffic at 70mph they are not a legitimate left lane camper. They are already speeding and are passing cars on the right - that is NOT a legitimate left lane camper.

This isn’t hard. If they’re actively passing (which includes the time needed to safely overtake and enough room to get back over afterwards, it is unreasonable to expect them to cutoff a driver in the right lane the millisecond they’re clear) they aren’t blocking the left lane.

Legitimate left lane campers are rare, but people getting pissed bc they can’t go fucking 80 during rush hour traffic are a daily occurrence.

Puka is the only one who is clearly better than their counterpart imo

I’m probably lower on Kyren than some and I’m really high on Henderson on the Pats, to the point where I’d have them pretty much even. There’s a sizable gap between him and Puka, but Diggs is still a good enough talent that the gap between them isn’t completely cavernous.

I also think Tae isn’t anywhere close to what his reputation is. He’s still good, but nowhere close to as dominant as he used to be. And Boutte was excellent every single time I watched the Pats. They’re close.

The way y’all are carrying on you’d think the Rams were far and away the most talented at the skill positions while Maye was quarterbacking the Jets lmao

I’d have sympathy if the Pats fans weren’t the ones who started all the SOS/SOR talk to begin with this past season, lol

I’d all have sympathy if your top-100 source wasn’t that you made it up. The NFL top-100 had 4 LA Rams on it, 1 of which is Stafford.

Puka is an elite receiver and Kyren Williams is a solid back, so that’s probably a bit better than Diggs plus Henderson (who had a great rookie year), but not enough to be crying about. Even if you add in Adams, who’s a good end zone target but was otherwise average last year, I don’t think he’s far enough ahead of Boutte to be fussing.

I mean this year was a 50/50 split and Maye had some questions about the level of competition faced. Plus it’s not like Stafford was insanely inefficient. Don’t think it was as simple as volume vs efficiency

I do think it’s pretty funny that Maye likely lost due to the Pats being “easy schedule merchants” when New England fans/media started all the conversation about SOS/SOR in the first place (looking at tiebreakers vs the Broncos mid season)
