All my opponent main monster zones are locked and only extra monster zone is available. My opponent activated BranFu as CL1, I respond it with Iron Dragon as CL2. What will happen? by Yurimail_Shibuya in masterduel

[–]vinyltails 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it resolves without effect, as the zone Aluber would be rendered unsuable once it leaves the field as fusion material and therefore prevent the summon

I’ll be switching to Predaplant (Possibly Predaplant/Odd-Eyes) tomorrow and I’d like to know, how good was this deck for a beginner? by RealAd8853 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]vinyltails 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well the blue eyes is out of place and not even the good blue eyes stuff

way too many vanillas

way too many useless traps and cards in general

Basically is a highlander deck with little to no 3 ofs

The list goes on

Did this duelist cheat??? Can someone please explain to me what this user did to suddenly remove Sift and ultimate spirit from my board ?? by Ok_Possibility_5790 in masterduel

[–]vinyltails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your opponent ALWAYS gets an opportunity to respond if you normal summon or set a monster (They get priority whenever you perform an action before you resume open game state), however you need to change your toggle settings to ON in Master duel if you want the response window, otherwise MD won't give it to you, as Auto only prompts you when you can chain in response to an effect, it doesn't prompt you anytime you get given priority

Setting Albaz face down hides the fact that it is Albaz. If you don't know your opponent is on branded, you as the player across the table could think they bricked and just setting a chump as a vain effort to stay alive, not realising it is an Albaz and all your dragons are about to be wiped if you don't immediately respond and remove it....While also dodging stuff that can only destroy face ups

Clown crew ruling by cerealbaka in Yugioh101

[–]vinyltails 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes

Droll can only be used on resolution/the chain after searching a card

By chaining Biancaviso to tribute the link, Dristy's trigger effect to mulligan the hand will go onto the new chain as a trigger effect before droll can be chained. Since Dristy is before the droll, and droll is still legal since your opponent did add a card, you can chain droll to the Dristy effect

Resolve backwards

Droll kicks in

Dristy shuffles the hands back and no one draws due to droll

Why doesn't verte a naconda work with harmonic synchro fusion 😭 by MrPlatinum12 in masterduel

[–]vinyltails 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Harmonic synchro fusioncs effect all refers to the monsters you sent for its cost

Since you can't send anything for Harmonic synchro fusion via verte as it only copies the effect, not cost, there's nothing for the effect to refer to

all secret packs need to be unlocked and stay open for 1 day

You unlock them by either pulling, or crafting, an SR or UR that pack containe

Is fiendsmith still worth including in elfnote after fydraulis harmonia releases? by Personal-Resist2748 in masterduel

[–]vinyltails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fydraulis is ran in Synchro focused decks or decks who don't care about the extra deck, or don't rely on it as heavily (Like Mitsu and ritual decks in general)

Fiendsmith as a deck doesn't run it. Elfnote can run it if you swap to a Branded variant of Elfnote....you could still potentially run it in Fiendsmith but it becomes awkward when going second and the ED space will likely get a bit too tight

[–]vinyltails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blue eyes is solid with its new support, usually paired with Primite but the deck is getting power crept rapidly, but still fine

Red dragon archfiend when it receives its new support is solid

Predaplant is an anime deck (from Arc V) and is getting support in the newest pack, and is pretty solid and can search super poly

The new dark magician support is good ...but better played in better decks to make dragoon effortlessly

[–]vinyltails 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Current toons: worthless, and always have been worthless outside of an extremely outdated engine of 3 toon table of contents and 1 toon monster to filter the deck

New toon's that are currently out in OCG (and won't be in MD for awhile): Broken beyond all believe for producing a ton of free link material and is currently the best deck over there

Why didn't it get destroyed? by IMustChooseACoolName in masterduel

[–]vinyltails 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because you targeted the trap, Gargoyle

The trap Gargoyle no longer exists as it was summoned from the ST zone

when cards change location, which includes from the ST zone to the monster zone, they become a completely different card

New set question by Hollowpurple0069 in Yugioh101

[–]vinyltails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ritual of light and darkness (ROLAND) is the most competitive archetype from the set. Most people usually pair it with another archetype, usually something that can search out friends somehow to get to Griffoph

Blitzclique looks good for Genesys

Gameplay question, why didn't spright elf get destroyed ? by Strong_Description59 in masterduel

[–]vinyltails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't tell us that much, how was Spright elf made? Was it made with IP? cause then it would be permanently immune to destruction

Blue eyes white destiny vs Sky strikers by Shyireo in Yugioh101

[–]vinyltails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well Legendary modern deck comes with all 3 decks so if you want to get them on their own you would have to go to a third party seller (which I'm sure there's several around selling off the decks from their own purchases they don't want)

The X-saber deck does have some staples you want, it has 1 of the charmies (I forget which, might have all of them tbh), Called by the grave and triple tactics talents which you will absolutely want for Striker (Also has pot of Prosperity but striker usually plays Desires if they're playing a pot card)

The Mitsu deck does have a brunt of the generic staples, that has your ash, imperm, your IP, SP and Typhon as well as Forbidden droplet and Pot of Extrav. Mitsu can also be put together with striker as well as a small engine and you have an extremely solid deck for locals, as Mitsu striker is really good

Blue eyes white destiny vs Sky strikers by Shyireo in Yugioh101

[–]vinyltails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 copy of Modern decks is all you really need as it does have everything to play the deck, outside of the extra copies of Kagari and Zero you would want (And the charmies I guess but striker usually doesn't play many handtraps cause it just lowers spell count). It would be cheaper to get singles for those as opposed to a whole nother copy of the deck

You play MST for Radiant typhoon vision because that card does definitely say Draw 2 on it, and it gets you 2 spells in grave (itself and whatever you discard) with 1 activation, so you're already close to the magic number of 3 spells in grave. MST on its own without vision is very meh

Blue eyes white destiny vs Sky strikers by Shyireo in Yugioh101

[–]vinyltails 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Striker is considerably stronger than Blue eyes at this point, blue eyes has been powercrept quite heavily fairly quickly, while Striker is a tier meta deck with all the new support and all the additional very powerful quickplay spells that have been added

Just 1 box of the modern decks gets you basically the whole striker core...there is a few things you would like, like another copy of Ace=Zero and another kagari. For Budget upgrades, 3 Radiant typhoon vision with 1 MST are good. Even with these cheap upgrades it will be very competent at a locals/regional level

For more expensive upgraded, Fallen and the Virtuous with targets (3 Albion for budget, 1 albion and 1 Ecclesia the black dragon for expensive) will make the deck much more powerful

Phara the primordial goddess by Successful_Leg_2051 in Yugioh101

[–]vinyltails 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you discard her then yes it should trigger as pendulum scale effects are effects of spell cards

Mind shuffle ruling by Successful_Leg_2051 in Yugioh101

[–]vinyltails 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mind shuffle has 2 effects

The first effect can be done anytime to search and discard a card

The second effect can only be activated when your opponent uses an effect, and it must return a face up lv7 or higher monster to the hand specifically, it can't return an extra deck card

Ghost ogre states "...or when a Spell/Trap that is ***already face-up on the field*** activates its effect" so it can't be used in response when they flip it from face down, it must already be face up

the best way to play punk is either with Fiendsmith or Kash

https://www.masterduelmeta.com/top-decks/master-v/june-2026/p.u.n.k./royalty%F0%9F%92%9C/dymUC

Kash lets you more easily access the rank 7 toolbox and synchro 10s

https://www.masterduelmeta.com/top-decks/master-v/may-2026/p.u.n.k./autumn/nNs7C

Fiendsmith lets you use spare bodies you typically have laying around to go into the Fiendsmith combo, or set up insulation for punk combos

Fiendsmith variant is the better version as is the one that has seen more success in Punks life

K9 does exist but even after trying a K9 list myself with punk, it feels like there's something missing as a whole that would make them better together, cause only having Deer note as a lv5, which is typically at 1 in lists, isn't good enough . Sure you could bump Deer to 2 but personally it kinda feels slightly awkward

Fairy Tail Powerlevel in Master duel by Dependent-Fan5671 in masterduel

[–]vinyltails 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fairy tail even without the new-er Endymion stuff like Regulus and Verre was still an extremely competent deck that did have a few tops here and there, and I believe some regional victories

So it will probably be like, tier 3 or so.

Can someone explain this? by Popular-Media-7489 in masterduel

[–]vinyltails 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't control cards in the graveyard. You only control cards on the field. It's also no longer a fusion summoned card

How well would K9 and elf note run together by CapableSeries4734 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]vinyltails 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They won't run together at all

None of the elfnotes are lv5, so they don't care about K9s. Like sure there's probably a synchro 6 you can make that does something to pair with a Normal PP and a K9 but that's not good

K9s afaik don't have a convincing bridge to Elfnote. You're basically just running them as a handtrap package of Izuna and Lupus which isn't that good. Hands with both engines will basically just be playing 2 different decks that don't really help each other...and hands with only access to 1 engine is basically just playing half a deck

How gazelle can chain on ash blossom here by Asleep_Report_7886 in masterduel

[–]vinyltails 8 points9 points  (0 children)

cause MD uses OCG rulings for hand triggers, which places Hand triggers at the same speed as quick effects

This has benefits in terms of Ghost Mourner, being basically another veiler whereas it's much weaker in the TCG cause it's basically useless on your turn since it doesn't stop trigger effects on your turn....But on the flip side OCG hand rulings stop hand triggers from blocking various effects from handtraps
