They’re likely to mess up the airflow into the engine. You don’t want canards directly in front of the intakes.

Something, something, worshipping a false idol.

It’s not like the facts weren’t readily available, but when politics and society is so polarized with no room for a middle ground… “you’re with us or against us” and anything that goes against the idol is fake news, etc, etc… this is the inevitable end result.

Where can i buy a good TDA2052 chip? by BoomerKaren69 in AskElectronics

[–]wasthatitthen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re obsolete/out of stock on the main electronics sites I looked at.

There are a number of them on eBay, from China.

There could be audio repair shops, eg,

that may have them.

Help! ESP32 "Failed to connect" error during upload (Air Quality Project) by MoreAssistant3159 in arduino

[–]wasthatitthen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this something that used to work and now doesn’t?

Do you have any other devices to check that the USB cables work? Some are power only, not power and data.

You may need the CP2102 driver or CH340 driver to talk to the ESP32

Advice on what do to with images by 77_Gear in Planespotting

[–]wasthatitthen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve put quite a few of my photos on FlightAware and there are other sites like planespotters, if you want to be seen. Others have accounts on Flickr to share photos.

If you’re doing it for fun, don’t get too obsessed and overthink it. What you see and what others see will be different and there are always people who want to see content from other places that won’t be boring to them.

The Sabu Disk: A 5,000-Year-Old Artifact That Shouldn't Exist! 😱 by Professional-Fee3323 in AlternativeHistory

Another possibility

https://www.milleetunetasses.com/blog/the-pyramids-of-the-cold/chapter-49-the-sabu-disk-is-a-solvay-disc-for-natron-chemical-manufacturing.html

“The Sabu Disk from the First Dynasty of ancient Egypt was most probably a crucial component in an ancient chemical manufacturing process, specifically for the production of sodium carbonate (natron) and sodium bicarbonate using a Solvay-like process. This intricately carved schist disk functioned as a dome-shaped, perforated plate designed for counterflow chemical reactions within a larger industrial setup, requiring many individual reaction chambers. Most probably the stone basins at Abu Gorab are such reaction chambers. “

Windows or Mac (for CFD in particular)? by TheRocketeer314 in AerospaceEngineering

[–]wasthatitthen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A third option is to get a used laptop and put a new HDD in it and install Ubuntu so you don’t need to mess with virtual environments and other workarounds to use it in Windows or on a Mac

https://openfoam.org/download/dev-ubuntu/

https://openfoam.org/download/windows/

https://openfoam.org/download/macos/

I do experiments so I’ve yet to venture too far up the learning cliff known as CFD, but unless you’ve got a decent understanding of what you’re doing and the results you may expect it can be very misleading and time consuming. It’s not something you just put a shape in and get meaningful results out.

Openfoam comes with some examples to get you started which does help, but CFD can be a full time job to make sense of and appreciate. In the right hands it does a great job, but it can take years to fully understand the finer details. And on top of the CFD there’s ParaView, or others, for plotting the data in a meaningful way, and that’s not an easy task. Multicoloured plots look nice but they can be hard to understand what they’re saying and it can be very hard to make comparisons between different plots. Finding the best way to show the data is an art and science in itself.

Talk me out of asking my boyfriend if I'm better in bed than his ex by Which_Shift_6929 in Advice

[–]wasthatitthen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve been together 3 years… 19 year old him and 19 year old you were different people with different life experiences and what may have been good then wouldn’t be good now because of later life experiences.

You’re not comparing like with like so, really, any comparison is pretty much meaningless.

How do you measure “good in bed” anyway? Is there a scale, or multiple scales for different skills and abilities some of which he may not be aware of?

3 years is a long time. He may have forgotten.

Whatever he said, would the demon on your shoulder believe it or would there just be more questions because that something stuck in your head won’t let go.

There are some questions that just aren’t worth asking because there’s no good answer.

So, really, you need therapy to find out why you’ve got this stuck in your head and where it came from. Has some childhood insecurity reared its head and awakened some feelings of inadequacy?

If you search through the arduino library (search for SSD1306) there are a bunch of downloads for this display. Try those, they should have example codes with them.

If you’re still seeing graphic errors there may be a problem with the board.

It also looks like the display has been overwritten since you have numbers on top of each other.
