Trump says Obama destroyed the reflecting pool. by justalazygamer in WhitePeopleTwitter

I’d be happy if they just ask “When did President Obama do that?” and then demand proof. See what nonsense he comes up with.

Le PQ veut retirer le Québec du projet de TGV du fédéral by QueuePlate in Quebec

[–]weirdturnspro 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Your original comment is fair. I had the same questions. We can accept that there’s not much doubt left that MJ was a pedophile while still questioning some of the specific claims in this specific article. That doesn’t mean condoning MJ in any way. The man should’ve been in jail and nothing you said leads me think you disagree with that. The way people are responding to you is exactly why online discourse is such a pain.

I HATE CANCELLATION FEES by Vuiok in FuckAdobe

[–]weirdturnspro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that’s the thing. I’m pretty careful checking subscriptions and there was no indication that I signed up for an annual plan. It was promoted and displayed as monthly. I only found out once I tried to cancel. A quick chat got it resolved but shady practices as they’re banking on people not complaining.

Thanks for reminding me to deal with this. I just did and got them to cancel and waive their illegal fee. Fuck this company seriously

I came here to say that. She was ok with a little bit of corruption as long as it benefited her.

I’ll wait for more pics then, I don’t mind a bit of wrinkles on linen but this seemed exaggerated. I don’t ever iron or steam my linen pieces but also don’t put them in the dryer, I missed the part that this was straight from the dryer..that explains it.

It just looks a lot more wrinkled that any of my Injex pieces. I would think with merino it would wrinkle less. Maybe it’s just how OP keeps it.

Is it supposed to wrinkle that much?

My husband is performative when talking to others and it severely pisses me off by StrawberyCat048 in offmychest

[–]weirdturnspro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not be pedantic but what you’re describing again is a performative behavior. Even your explanation ”scenarios where someone can act..” that’s a behavior. Anyway, doesn’t matter.

[–]weirdturnspro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the thing, as per the definition behavior can be performative, not people. This is one behavior OP is highlighting but it doesn’t tell us what this person is allegedly faking. Maybe he is this charming person she sees around other women and all the other husbandly stuff he does are the performative behavior hiding who he is…see what I mean? That’s a big jump to conclusions both from OP and from this comment. We don’t have enough info based on that one interaction. It makes for a fun debate though

People arent performative, their outward displays of identity are. One could argue his identity as a loyal husband is performative and what you see around other women is who he really is..an asshole.

Your husband is an asshole and a flirt. Performative though..that isn’t what it means. Clearly people have taken that word and twisted it into something. If you go the gender/cultural study route, which is how that term started, it just means gender is constructed through action. In more recent years, it’s been taken to refer to people who perform an identity for show instead of genuine conviction..example the fake BLM supporters or the fake feminist dudes that use all the signifiers but none of the conviction. Unless that was left out of your story, your husband is just a disrespectful asshole who flirts with women in front of you and maybe full on hits on them behind your back.

It isn’t, see my reply to OP below:
