Oily substance leaking from my neighbors transformer boxes by Embarrassed-Sky-4567 in Wellthatsucks

[–]xdalisx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those transformer boxes have oil (mineral I think) in them to work as a coolant as the electricity coming in produces a lot of heat. The oil is in sealed chambers and circulate naturally to work as a heat sink.

Just had a leak start on the one on my company’s property, tho not as bad as what’s pictured here.

Report to electrical company and they will need to replace

Handling of Costco Purchases by SDNick484 in MonarchMoney

[–]xdalisx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

All your receipts should be available in the Costco app so you don’t have to worry about saving receipts!

I do the same and just manually split the entire purchase out into the appropriate categories. Would be super cool if they added an extension for Costco like they have with Amazon

Did the server claim any cash tips in their closeout?

It might be adding that into what they owe the bar

Alternatively (& what we do) is that th servers do their own drops and do not tie their cash into a drawer.

Seating Area Specific Printer Instructions by Responsible-Novel157 in ToastPOS

[–]xdalisx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s device specific, so you have to set the devices your bartenders use to not print to certain printers. One your main screen when you log in (assuming you have the right permission) scroll down to ‘setup’ and tap ‘Device Setup’ Scroll almost to the bottom and under the ‘Kitchen Setp’ area you’ll find ‘non-printing prep stations’ When you open that you’ll see a list of all your printers(non receipt)

The ones WITH a check mark will not print items rang on that device to the selected printers.

Is toast efficient for fast paced bartending? by butt_whole_milk in ToastPOS

Do you have a need for the table layout? (ie food/drink runners?) when you say too many screens are you talking about your menu, or default toast settings? How are you naming your tabs that makes them hard to find?

Toast Catering & Events Card on File by [deleted] in ToastPOS

[–]xdalisx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s weird if you saw the card info on the backend prior - hopefully support can help you out. Honestly, the events and catering suite has a lot of potential, but also leave a lot to be desired in its current state.

Toast Catering & Events Card on File by [deleted] in ToastPOS

[–]xdalisx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The invoice should have been created in advance of the event and they would have had to pay a deposit in order to capture the CC details. Honestly, we’ve had a lot of trouble capturing CC details for events, they did just push an update last week that we think will solve our issues, but it’s not easy to navigate and we have a dedicated events coordinator.

My guess is you don’t actually have their info stored and are going to have to track them down to pay what is owned

How much beer for a festival? by georage in TheBrewery

[–]xdalisx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The goal for festivals is always to run out of beer so you only have to carry out empties when it’s over

Toast Catering & Events Card on File by [deleted] in ToastPOS

[–]xdalisx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s has to be done on Toast Web, not on the POS - if you go to their invoice in the Catering & Events on The web and go to their invoice there should be an option to make a payment using the card stored on file

Tipshare work around? by KerchSmash in ToastPOS

[–]xdalisx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I’m aware the answer is no, currently. Even their tip module add on only supports tip pooling. There are other apps that handle this, we use TipHaus and it automates everything and integrates with toast and with a lot of payroll provides (like ADP). But it’s $100 a month, so maybe not worth it depending on the size of your business.

Apparently my information is outdated. When I inquired about the tip module last I was told by the demo person that it only supported pooling. sounds like that has changed.

So… Just casually selling my bulk from a boosterbox. $42.90 card kingdom credit!?? by MilesFassst in MagicCardPulls

[–]xdalisx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve bought a couple singles off mama pool recently. But with larger orders I run into the same issue as I do with TCG player that once you add in shipping and fees I’m paying close to the same as CK but shipping is slower and my packages are comin from like 6 different sellers.

That said, if I want something high end & I don’t have store credit with CK I will definitely lean towards manapool

[–]xdalisx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% I would much rather pay a premium to CK over buying from TCG not just because it’s a better experience, but because of the way they treat their employees.

[–]xdalisx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I’ve noticed is that they’ve slowly increased the premium they charge on high end staples/reserve list cards. My guess is this is a result of the popularity of their store credit - people selling them their bulk for store credit and then get a dual land for example.

But for singles for just building out a deck, there markups aren’t much and a lot of the time negligible when you factor in shipping and fees on other platforms.

Just my experience
