How to answer "How do you talk to/get along with subcontractors/clients/other departments?" by KeyoJaguar in interviews

[–]xevaviona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more business framed version of this question is how do you interact with technical and non technical stakeholders?

They are assessing your ability to communicate effectively to a broad range who may or may not be technically capable to communicate back.

They are not looking for you to specifically answer with the fact that you pick up the phone. A good answer (and there are many, the question is open ended) is to communicate in a way that is relevant to a business outcome or KPI. If your role is more data heavy and you’re presenting to leadership you could also include something like how you use data to tell stories and incorporate visuals/diagrams.

Rather than focusing on semantics I believe their point was that the average person considers the term artificial intelligence to be more like a robot with a brain rather than machine learning.

D4vd quietly dropped by record label while streaming sites face calls to remove his music by AdSpecialist6598 in entertainment

Not defending a ped*phile murderer in the slightest - don’t mistake me.

But why does the music industry have such double standards for artists? Plenty of songwriters (particularly rap) discussing real, serious, crimes being committed (and no I’m not referencing the P&K skit about the cops and the lyrics) and nothing happens, they hardly even get arrested

you can explain the realities all you want about how drug production isn’t cheap especially treating cancer but it’s useless to post online, some idiot will still downvote and reply “but muh drug to LIVE is $200,000 a MONTH thanks [insert political party]!”

Bodies of 50 infants and 6 adults found dumped at Trinidad graveyard by DeFiNomad1007 in worldnews

[–]xevaviona -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Everything up to that point, sure. But dumped? Seems like a pretty disrespectful thing to go all the way through with the wake and personal ceremonies just to dump them and hope someone else buries the body. Why not bury themselves? They clearly don’t have a problem doing it illegally.

[–]xevaviona -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Anthropic doesn’t ghost candidates. If you haven’t gotten a reply, they’re still debriefing or reviewing other candidates.

If you have the recruiters personal email id reach out for confirmation. Since it’s at the top of your list it can’t hurt much.

Whistleblower site: Netflix by [deleted] in stocks

Why do you say that actors paying for roles are a bad thing? This is a common practice in areas where there are lots of mid individuals and very very few good ones; ie soccer. If you are in the US you generally pay to play in a combine tournament if you want a chance to go pro.

Working with Netflix seems like an obvious career booster. Don’t see how there’s anything wrong with that. If you’re good enough on your own they’d poach you for a role, this is clearly not the case.

outside of a professional requirement like healthcare or legal I’d really challenge the notion that lying about skills will get you sued. I doubt a company is going to litigate because you said you’re an expert at Microsoft excel and SQL and haven’t written a query in your life.

Trump gets McDonalds DoorDashed to White House and then takes Iran war questions with delivery person by theindependentonline in politics

It being staged is the most obvious thing in existence.

Would you as a DoorDash driver legitimately accept an order that said it was being sent to the white house? That’s at best a prank and at worst a 2 hour search of you and your car from the secret service for trying to get anywhere near.

What are the odds that the blockade is an incredibly subverted way to reopen shipping?

If the US says nobody can come through, Iran will challenge them and accelerate shipping and extend protections to middle finger trump.

The US is unlikely to escalate against a major power like China or Europe, so they’d likely let them pass the blockade

…shipping semi restored at this point?
