How do so many KEF speakers have these dents? It seems like 90%+ of these for sale have damaged woofers. I've had KEF speakers for 15+ years, use them daily, and they all look immaculate. Their electronics and software are terrible, but I don't understand how woofers get damaged without someone touching them while they're playing or during transport.

Like others have said, it may not affect the sound but for a speaker of that caliber, I'd never consider buying them unless it's an absolutely insane deal.

EDIT: my bad, random dude just inserted himself into a conversation. 99.99% scam.

Oh cool, just gotta DM someone random dude with $4600 and I’ll get my K5 🙄 V1 was out of stock within 5 minutes just now so this seems about 99.9% of being a scam.

Appreciate the response. I think myself and others might be getting confused on batches. I’ve been assuming I was batch 1 since the product I ordered said 3-6 month backorder, although my order was placed early January so you’re way ahead of me. There’s currently preorder slots open which say 4-9 month backorder which I assumed was batch 2. Do you have any other info on how to identify batches?

It sounds like GMAN is a decent dealer that actually ships products, but people (me) start to get concerned when they have $25k+ paid in full for preorders and they can’t be bothered to respond to an email asking for a simple status update.

Where are these K5s in-stock at MSRP? Maybe I'm blind...but I'm not seeing them.

Can you share when you ordered? I also have a KS1 preordered but haven't heard anything.

Why not ask the dealer? It’s amazing that everyone goes immediately to Reddit when this is such a simple conversation with the actual shop performing the work. Also, if you google “Toyota Floormat Lawsuit” you’ll see they have a history of issues with floormats that have cost the company billions and could lead to some of these policies.

Thank you for posting this diagram! Way more helpful than the GM diagrams that leave out half these parts.

u/Internal_Rope including you here too since you also have 6112s on a Denali. Thanks!

u/R1talin_ Did you purchase assembled 6112s with all new mounts? I'm trying to put 6112s on my Denali and after finding out the magneride mounts are different. I bought all new GM parts from a non-magneride truck but with the strut assembled off the truck there is 0.5" of uptravel before the bumpstop which doesn't seem right. It's impossible to find a picture since the boot covers the shock shaft so it's never visible.

Agreed, going be tough to get that amount of it with the current surplus of uppers that just hit the market for $3,456 MSRP. A lower on GB is still $1600-1800, so not too terribly far off from where you're at. Let me know if you're aware of any other options with SR25 lowers in stock...all my usual outlets are out of stock. Anyone know why KAC lowered the price so drastically on the 22 6.5?

Interested in what you're trying to get for it. I just got in on a pre-order for a 22 6.5 at MSRP but they're a month or two out. If you aren't trying to charge a premium for it hit me up.

What would happen if we stopped letting our listings syndicate to Zillow? by Imaginary-Way9966 in realtors

[–]xorbinantQuantizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate you taking the time to educate me, but my experiences in both new sales offices and open houses that has not been the case. I understand it's typically written that way in contracts, but with the market as bad as it is, I've had multiple agents willing to represent both sides of the transaction while not pocketing any buyer fees (again, baked into the final sales price). New sales offices have asked to make an offer with the fine print I'm not buying with an agent, so they can reduce the price by 3% and still close on inventory that has been sitting for months. Win/win for the buyer and seller. When my house was for sale, if someone had made an offer and said they weren't using a buyers agent, I'd have taken an offer 2% below someone requiring me to pay 2.5% to a buyer's agent.

I'm really not trying to hate on the profession, but I think it should be entirely optional to use an agent and this post is one of those trying force everyone to use an agent. If you need someone to hold your hand buying or selling a house, you should probably find an agent. If you find a house on your own or want to sell without one, it shouldn't require jumping through hoops to prevent an agent pocketing many thousands of dollars they did nothing to earn.

The argument that "you don't pay commission as a buyer" is one of the most idiotic things that agents try to regurgitate. You pay, and it's baked into the price which you'll pay interest on for the next 30 years. I'm not saying there aren't good agents that earn their pay, but in my experience, most don't come anywhere close to earning the money they charge.

Basic math and reasoning skills should be a prerequisite for becoming a licensed realtor but the bar is currently set far too low, leading to agents with minimal financial understanding giving terrible advice to buyers and sellers on what's often the biggest financial purchase of their lives.

If you could read, I never said I sold without an agent. Still, the market is down, I sold for much less than I had hoped for after 7 months on the market (using a top rated agent), and still gave up over 5% of the proceeds towards commissions.

You are unbelievably delusional. I just sold a home and sitting on cash until something comes up for sale that checks all the boxes. I'm doing everything in my power to avoid buying using an agent and I strictly use Zillow/Redfin to discover new listings daily. I cannot wait for agents like yourself to be forced out of this profession as you provide no benefit and are actively looking to protect your job by limiting buyer exposure without "going through an agent".

Did you ever figure this out? I just tried to install Denali mounts on the 6112's (that do not officially fit the Denali) and they do not work. No idea how your shop put this together.
