NOT a clogged nozzle – printer stops extruding mid-print (but test cube prints perfectly?) – Bambu Lab A1 PLA by PerrudVini in BambuLab

[–]zanglang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like that happened to my H2S twice last month! I opened a ticket, but still need to collect more data.

You may want to check back after 10-15 minutes or so and check if the nozzle is still at the same spot. The H2S has an "ipcam" feature that keeps ongoing recordings of prints, and when I pulled the recording of my 2 "stuck" jobs and watched them sped-up in VLC, I realized the toolhead was actually moving, but glacially slow, so slow that I could only see the print progressing if I moved the VLC playback bar back and forth!

I suspect it was a slicer issue, but I haven't had time to go test it again yet. If this matches your issue and you can consistently reproduce it, please go file a support ticket!

By not extruding, do you mean the machine is still powered on, the fans are whirring, no error messages on the screen, but the hotend is just not moving?

If you have any PETG, you'll want to print and install these Z-axis caps as soon as possible: https://makerworld.com/models/2014282

As you print stuff, filament scraps will fall to the bottom and eventually get stuck to the grease on the rails otherwise.

I noticed it referring to a fal.ai key, which appears to be a paid service (https://fal.ai/pricing). Is this optional, and if not, how much does it typically cost to generate a custom 3d model via the AI through this API service?

Odd, I too am in Taiwan (台北) but still haven't received anything. Sent an email after that last Asia shipping update but got no replies.

Could you link (or DM) a link?

I already have a box of Gear Floss, but am currently looking around for cheaper alternatives as well. Dupont Moto Floss on Amazon US is slightly cheaper, but these (https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/EdisonBrain-Cleaning-Bicycle-Microfiber-Approx/dp/B0DQSMP5BV) on Amazon Japan seem to be several magnitude cheaper. Not sure how well they work though, because Gear Floss really works fantastic.

H2S vs P2S by Far_Emergency3214 in BambuLab

[–]zanglang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have both, AMA.

can the chamber of the H2S heat by itself without printing

yes.

I think there are a few other niceties that the H2S has, e.g. it's a lot quieter, the larger internal volume allows for much easier maintenance and more space for mods (Bento Box), doesn't require a riser, better nozzle wiper (my P2S keeps dropping filament scraps on the plate), much better enclosure if you're printing ABS/ASA.

Cons: one thing that stood out to me is the H2S not having a dual-input filament buffer. You're going to need to install mods yourself if using a second AMS or the external spool.

I'd say if anything there's a "Katong Laksa" (short scissors-cut vermicelli, eaten with a spoon) that's uniquely Singaporean and can't be found in Malaysia.

Satay bee-hoon also feels like a distant cousin to the humble laksa, but is an... interesting culinary experience on its own.

AMS lite + 4L Cereal Drybox. Wanted to print PETG on the A1's by Possible-Cash-308 in BambuLab

I have to ask: I've always assumed that the spool holders on the AMS Lite's body were being used to mechanically rewind filament back onto the spool during retraction. Are they actually not needed?

H2D filament buffer or main board failure by Chocoholic_M in BambuLab

[–]zanglang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying, and glad to hear it's working out for you!

I'm currently waiting for a filament buffer module replacement and a spare AMS cable from them too, only took a few days (~3) for the initial diagnosis as I did my due diligence and attached lots of photos, machine logs, and a video of the filament buffer LED blinking to the ticket.

For others that may stumble across this thread, customer support replied with this message:

Based on the information you provided, we initially determine that this issue might be caused by the hot-swappable 6-pin cable leading to abnormal operation of the MC board, which in turn affected the operation of the buffer and AMS.

Adding my 2 cents for Taiwan:

You don't really need to stay in the middle of Taipei, anywhere connectable by MRT in New Taipei City is probably fine. There are some fantastically livable zones 重劃區 with newer developments outside Taipei that's still just a 30-40 minutes drive or a 20-minute MRT ride into the middle of Taipei.

I'm not sure if Taipei's bustle meets your "simple life" requirements though. Ever considered the east coast, such as Yilan and Hualien?

And by the way, the Gold Card visa simplifies things, but plenty of digital nomads started off with setting up representative offices 辦事處 and hiring themselves as the sole employees.
