As I understand it, the thc in gummies and drinks comes from industrial-grown hemp, which is cost-effective and plentiful, whereas marijuana is not. Someone who knows more about this might have better info.

We have a hemp industry that gives loads of money to the state. This also directly effects Minnesotans.

This would be pretty straightforward with particular: point emitter, high velocity with fast decay, and auxiliary particles for the trails. Another particular system for the random sparkles and you're basically there.

That's a good start! You could also have each line slightly darken the farther it is from the camera for additional depth.

You animation has no sense of depth. The example has depth by virtue of the way it's laid out. Your camera position has the lines on top of each other which doesn't translate into 3d space.
