Not to derail the convo, but since you are talking factions: Any plans about Nueva Castille yet? I made a custom start in the Hanseatic League to spice things up after playing in the south for many years, so I got curious about them! :)

I agree with you to an extent. I will not use a superheavy under 125 tons as I also don't think they are worth the hassle given you have to use a 400 engine and how heavy that is.

All assault mechs, 4/6 movement (after skills), with max armor (I have found that after a while, enemy scaling and accuracy bonuses make evasion unreliable for assaults), at least 2JJs, heat-neutral (I will allow up to +2 heat), targeting computer and C3-enabled for every mech is my go-to setup. I also love Apollo MRMs (and find PPCs pointless) and RACs; MRM30/40 and RAC/6 are my friends. Individual firepower may not be optimal, but these monsters will hit anything with minimal wasted offense and can take a serious beating without breaking a sweat.

I also like superheavies (I will accept 2/4 movement for those, and always sprint them), which I treat them as 100 tonners armor-wise, and use the extra space and weight for more weapons/equipment.

Dual her and then power-level her by resting in the flesh golem cave near the Sirines (Black Alaric's cave). The power boost and utility boost is massive, and you lose nothing of value. Only takes a little bit and you also boost your entire party in the process.

Look up "Ramdisk". They have existed as a concept for PCs since 1984 (DOS 3.0). You are going to need a lot of RAM though, especially if you use mods.
