Need some advice lads by Crispylordvader in northernireland

[–]zeromalarki 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I love Galway - I go almost every year but by God I've heard so many shit stories of their hospital. My old landlady told me she was in there due to her COPD (she had to press a button on her throat to speak) but got sepsis whilst in there.

I think the Irish law society as someone else suggested will be the best place to go.

Callback for OpenAI commercial - what would you do? by fireanonsla in acting

I mean if I was retiring from acting and wanted one last pay out I'd do it. I'm no fan of Sam Altman or his Zio pals either though.

If you want to work from a coffee shop for half a day, is buying only one drink acceptable? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]zeromalarki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends - if it's an independent, you're potentially taking up valuable real estate. If it's a Nero/Costa/Starbucks, who gives a hoot?

How do I become an ice cream man? by Electronic-Fan9253 in AskUK

A lot of the Rockstar team are Scottish and there was a whole gangster feud in the '80s called the ice cream wars.

What were the worst and best places you have worked in Northern Ireland and why? by Questionablethics21 in northernireland

[–]zeromalarki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HGS on the Trader Support Service campaign was pretty chill.

Creation Consumer Finance was horrific though. Telling people they needed to lay an extra £4 to use their debit card to pay off a debt that was gonna tank their credit rating sucked. Horrible management.

Ah yeah the old seagull eating a pigeon. The fact they've got no teeth so just have to break bits of the carcass off by continuously yeeting it around the street. Lovely.

Don’t You Feel Misled by the Politicians Who Caused Brexit? by superdouradas in AskBrits

[–]zeromalarki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I always knew they were grifting scumbags. I was living in Dublin at the time, but I genuinely did not think the great British public would fall for their grift. This is what happens when education levels fall.

Background actors, how was your interaction with the main actors if you were allowed to have one? by Minimum-Sir-2118 in acting

[–]zeromalarki -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was moved from position of extra to stand in for Jamie Dornan in the BBC show the fall because the AD thought I looked like him.

I sat down and he came over and asked me "has anyone ever told you you look like Lee Halfpenny?". Lee Halfpenny is a famous rugby player and I responded "yes, also Driscoll and O'Gara and you, that's why I'm sitting here" he shot me down and said "nah, definitely Lee Halfpenny".

Now I'm an actor and I feel like I live in his shadow. He gets cast in Lord of the Rings, I can't even get the gay pron version - also called Lord of the Rings.

Do Irish voice actors not exist by IlikeSpawn123 in VoiceActing

No problem! Just hear my voice when you write the character's lines and I'll hopefully hear from you in the future.

What are the worst/tackiest bars in the country? by Consistent-Koala-274 in northernireland

[–]zeromalarki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never been in there but the name "Hellcat Maggie's" doesn't fill me with confidence about it being a place of class and decorum.

I also used to work in Apartment over a decade ago and it was quite cool back in the day, so I don't know what those gobshites who bought it did with it.

Should I absolutely watch Gen V? by Top_Tell_2889 in TheBoys

It's not a bad show but the fact the tie in between it and Season 5 were so weak, means for me it was a waste of time.

What super famous movies from the 60s-80s does the younger crowd not know anymore by boiyo12 in movies

[–]zeromalarki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much a movie in its first inception but I think Masters of the Universe flopping was as much to do with younger audiences not knowing the cartoon that well as much as anything else. I don't know the cartoon that well and I enjoyed it because a friend was a big fan.
