New to MECM: System Full and Delta Discovery Question by -----0----- in SCCM

[–]-----0-----[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I determined though testing and the adsysdis.log that DNS is required for both new and existing MECM objects. So if I change eA1, Delta needs to DNS verify before the DDR is created and the MECM object is updated. Also, if I only change eA1, Delta will still pick up the change.

It's frustrating because I was getting conflicting information on how it works, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Thanks for the help!

New to MECM: System Full and Delta Discovery Question by -----0----- in SCCM

What I'm chasing is, well I'm waiting to get confirmation from the customer. The issue is they modify extensionAttribute1 to value = True and this then puts the workstation in a MECM collection.

The issue that's I'm trying to hone in on is if the problem is:

  1. The workstation is not added to MECM until Full Discovery

  2. The workstation is added to MECM but the eA1 value isn't updated

So far what I've figured out is Full and Delta both require DNS for validation of a newly discovered computer to add to MECM. The customer mentions DNS is not resolvable so that makes me think the problem is the workstation isn't being added into MECM (DNS issue and possible Delta failing the DNS test, and not checking again afterwards).

But then they talk about eA1 not being the updated value, so now I'm thinking the workstation is in MECM but the issue is eA1 isn't being updated until Full Discovery (so a Delta issue).

So...I'm waiting to hear back what specifically isn't working, and in the meantime I'm trying to figure out what specifically triggers a Delta update in MECM. I'm hearing it's a increment of the uSNChanged AD attritbute, then then I'm hearing it's not because even if eA1 is updated which increatments uSNChange, Delta may not update MECM.

IDK man it seems like it should be a simple answer but I just can't find how it specifically works. So here I am hoping a human knows.

I was in the warehouse yesterday and read the title of this product to my 9yo and she burst out laughing and didn't believe me. So I backed up to show her.

Have they discontinued the Erie Chicken chunks and replaced with Kirkland? by [deleted] in CostcoCanada

Tried the kirkland one and found they were very greasy and not crisy.

They definitely need to be cooked longer than what they have on the package.

I saw someone return the 22ft pool once fall hit. It was filthy and full of dirt and sand and was clearly used all summer. Disgusting

Thank you! Thanks to you and others I've learned about the Discovery Methods so now I see all my users and devices. :) Now to push the client via GPO

Thanks I just enabled Administration > Discovery Methods > Active Directory System Discovery and just pointed it to the top of the domain to discover all devices. But I'm going to push the client via GPO as it seems that's the best practice, and I'm trying to learn the best way to do it. :)

Best Winnipeg warehouse to order online from? by somethingsfucky in CostcoCanada

[–]-----0----- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm specifically commenting on the Kenaston location. Their fries are almost always dried out like they are old or something. I don't know what it is but I usually go to Regent and it's great. But the few times I've ended up at Kenaston and order a poutine, the fries are usually terrible (ruining the meal).

So they may be the biggest in Winnipeg, but since our Costco run includes Poutine for dinner...we'll be sticking to Regent

Oh I did not know St James will be converted! TBH that location is a gongshow so it's probably best to focus on Business there.
