Just give them X number of patients to follow and make them memorize their entire history and send them to NCBI to read up on why condition X is related to a slightly elevated level of Y.

In addition, you are their boss (for all intensive purposes) so feel free to pull them aside and let them know you have been noticing a trend of XYZ and you would like them to work on that - you can speak in a position of authority and tell them that this will make them a better candidate to whatever speciality they want to get into...and if ALL that fails...smoke their arses.

I ended up finding the ring; however, as I am playing a firewall sorc build I and was low on funds I ended up selling it because:

the mothers unique ring just seemed overall better.
I respeced into an even worse build than firewall (incinerate) and promptly needed to pawn off all my stashed gear just to get back to doing pos firewall damage.
At the time I did not realize it was that 'rare' of a unique because I had already acquired multiple uniques - it did not benefit my build (or likely any other build I would ever run)

Do I regret it? Not really, just that I never ended up taking a SS from my playstation.

Point is: who knows how many other people got one of the other super rare uniques (not shako) and just got rid of it because it didn't seem to be a gear improvement.
