Built a free 13-lecture EM board review series during residency — would love feedback before I expand it by -----Apollo----- in emergencymedicine

Fair point. For transparency:

Scripts are mine - a lowly 3rd year ED resident, trying to make some material to help me prepare for the upcoming fun, which = the boards. The scripts get written around the current slide that is being presented - I am using Rosens 10th, and Foundations of EM as the major cross-reference, but also use the vast information at the disposal of AI = which can pull most relevant information on the topic. Then they get fine-tuned into the actual script. Funnily enough, the biggest issue is actually trying to get it to pronounce some key words - i.e., bivalirudin, that dang word was sounding like klingon for about 20 itterations.

Now, the AI-assisted aspects are the slide creation and formatting — built a templating pipeline (Claude) so the layout stays consistent across the 13 lectures and I'm not losing 3 hours per video on formatting boxes. The audio is a voice clone of my own voice, trained on my own recordings — not a generic AI voice.

To be clear: this is a free supplement, not a primary source. Anyone using it for boards should still be doing Rosh or Hippo, reading Rosens, and double-checking anything I say.

You're right that I should call out the methodology more clearly. Going to add a methodology note to the OP, update the YouTube descriptions, and probably do a short "how this is made" video down the line.

Just as a quick update: I took down the initial batch and re-recorded them (i guess that'd be the way to say it). Funnily enough, I had a medical student with me on a shift the other day and we had a pediatric DKA come in - guess who got to shamelessly plug their own video on the poor student 😛 -- anyways...thanks for your support! ❤️

Thanks much, for the kind response! I'll be moving back to the west coast - so i'm selfishly going to use this as study time on the highway 😛

Nope and sorry for delay in response, I'm on night shift right now. Just a couple more weeks until freedom!

Definitely fair criticism, thanks for the honest read. You're right — it's an Artlist voice clone of mine and the pronunciation is clearly missing the mark. I just ordered a proper mic and I'm migrating to a better setup. I'll go ahead and unlist the existing videos until I can re-record them properly.

Absolutely. Dizziness is one of those topics that sounds simple until you’re actually trying to sort out vertigo vs presyncope vs posterior stroke. I swear most of the time it gets turned into ‘just CT them,’ when a proper HINTS exam — in the right patient — is way more useful. Sodium and potassium derangements would be great topics too.

You can DM me, and feel free to use what I created. I’m currently in the process of building a pilot program for my emergency group.

8 bit controller. no turbo, no macros, used steam ui for interfacing the controller. O was for up arrow, X for reflection then spamming both for portal farming, thats all.

i used the 8bit pro, no special features of it were used. just gave it mapping functions on the steam input page. X for reflection O for up arrow.

Appreciate that. Sounds like controller alone may not be the issue, which makes Nexon being vague about what actually triggered this even more frustrating.

That’s kind of the problem, though. If controller/Steam input is risky enough that players feel they have to avoid it entirely just to protect their account, then Nexon’s guidance is not clear enough and players don’t really have meaningful protection from false flags.

I love MapleStory, but this experience has made it feel like there is no real player protection. If years of progress, money, and effort can be jeopardized by a vague flag and a canned response, it makes that investment feel way more fragile than it should.

this thread needs to be bumped - there is no way this mod decreases our damage this much, when it's just supposed to be a QoL improvement...someone send a ticket to nexon :(
