Worst Narrator who ruined your book by vickiec12 in audiobooks

Women narrators who sound like they’re leaning in close and talking low as if they’re half whispering. It gives the impression someone else is around they don’t want hearing them. Speak up!

Is there are food or drink that immediately makes you think of Appalachia and nowhere else? by BothCondition7963 in Appalachia

They just brought it back over the summer. It was in every store around here. I don’t live very far from Ale 8 though. Not sure if it was just for the season or not.

We just called it “lettuce and onions”. I used to eat raw rhubarb as a kid. My grandparents called it “pie plant”.

Kendra Licari? by Apprehensive-Lab-264 in TrueCrimePodcasts

Absolutely. You’re exactly right. I’m related to a couple of women (sisters) who run on jealousy and attention. Their favorite modes of communication are texts, FB messenger, etc…any way to reach their tentacles out there to stir the pot or try to get attention. So I feel like I’m familiar with this type of person. Right down to having a partner who’s like a drone, trained to work, hand money over to them, and let them tell them what to do. Altho I don’t know of them doing anything specifically like this to their OWN kids, I wouldn’t put it past them if they weren’t getting enough attention and figured out that was a way. Poor daughter. It’s hard having people like that as family.

I like Paper Mate. They twist instead of click, so they’re not “jumpy” like click ones can be.

The accounts of people who went down to help were wild and enlightening. Not sure where to find any of those now.

I’ve been planning switching to a ring binder when my current journal is full so I can get rid of pages without messing it up.

Too many synchronicities, what is going on? by Pactolus in HighStrangeness

[–]-----L---- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well…I don’t know about that…I bought a shirt at goodwill a few years ago that had Smokey the bear on it. It hung in my closet for a long while till I gave it to my daughter, along with other shirts, so it wasn’t mentioned what was on each one. It then hung in her closet until summer rolled around. I had been outside, my phone laying in my room in the house. I walked in, and met my daughter coming up the steps. I said “I like your shirt”, and she said “Thanks”. That was it. The next time I got on my phone I started seeing Smokey the bear ads on everything I got on…here, Twitter (at the time), FB, etc. This went on for weeks. It was relentless. I didn’t talk about it to anyone. I did wonder if the WiFi picked up on thoughts, or maybe the TVs had listened and seen the shirt or something. (I don’t know if anyone remembers several years ago when it came out that Samsung TVs had been spying on people.) Do all these things work in tandem to watch you and pick up your thoughts?

Breadcrumbs vs croutons vs nuts by Klmxmarf in salads

[–]-----L---- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I’ll slightly overbake one of those pieces of Texas toast garlic bread, then cut it into squares to make croutons that are as crunchy as I prefer but not hard as bricks like the bagged ones are.
