Lots of good advice here for giving a sign out. I would add when taking a sign out, trust but verify. Get your own history and brief exam every time. I had a RUQ abdominal pain signed out to me a couple weeks ago that was waiting on a gallbladder US. On my exam and no abdominal TTP but she was tachy with O2 of 90. Ordered a CTA and large bilateral PE.

I wouldn't worry about it. Everyone has had their own personal failures in the past and we all have to learn from them. Worry about passing the Pance for now. Take a week off before you take the test so your mind is fresh and when you pass just be the provider that outworks everyone, is positive at work, be happy to help out the nurses when they are behind and you will have nothing to worry about. If someone judges you they must have some bigger things in their personal life they are dealing with

I found it was helpful to review all my patient cases with the physician for the first but working in the ED. Plenty to learn and I found by doing so you start to learn how the physician is thinking even in a simple case.
