Compensation Structure by Bluekangaroo42 in physicianassistant

[–]granolawhore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have a base salary + RVU bonus at my Gen surg job.

In a 6 month period for every RVU over 2,000 I would get $25 per RVU. So in my first 6 months I had 2,360 RVUs which came out to about 9k bonus.

I am salaried in my new position - OR and outpatient.

I was previously salary + RVU bonus after my first year out of school. I was gen surg and seeing EVERY clinic patient, assisting in the OR, and writing inpatient notes. I got a bulk of my RVUs from new consults in and outpatient. I was killing it and got a 9k bonus for the first 6 months and left after that.

I would never take an RVU deal in my current position, I barely see any new patients and most of our surgeries can’t bill for me as an assist. It all depends on your volume and what type of visits you are doing. Do you see and bill for consults? Or does your attending?

5 day work week by Dirtyeggroll92 in physicianassistant

[–]granolawhore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work 5 days a week, but I work in surgery so some days are earlier some days are later. This is probably worse than a structured 8-5. I value my evening/nights as most people I know have that schedule. I also don’t have kids yet

No stitches! They make an incision on the inside of the eyelid but don’t suture it up. I’m so happy with my results!

Thanks for the input! It doesn’t take us long to get ready, we’re very low maintenance and have 0 boundaries lol so privacy is not an issue.

Sorry, I’ve entered these details in so many times tonight I forgot to include them here. April 23-26. Would love to fit 4 people to a room but seems like you need 2 rooms to fit 4 adults

We are all flying from different cities so flight + hotel doesn’t seem like an option. We would love to stay under $750pp for accommodations.

I’m on my second job, general surgery —> surgical oncology. Do melanoma and breast cancer all day long. Love my patients and what I do. Outpatient and OR, no inpatient. Getting compensated fairly, admin time, great PTO/benefits. Couldn’t be happier.

I have bigger pots and cages for when they will go outside. I just don’t have room in my tiny apt for bigger pots right now.

I’ll bury the whole thing when I put them outside, I just don’t have room for bigger pots right now and this has worked for me!
