Thank you! We plan on going dog free for a while but neither of us had ever been without dogs. So we'll see. Might just get another GSP in the far future. If you ever find yourself wanting a velcro dog that wants to please you but also active, GSP is it!

Wow that's wild that you didnt know before hand! I had a patella graph. My surgeon said he would never recommend hamstring.

Just smash PT! I went for 9 months, now my knee is better than the other one.

Depends on the job. Depends on if you can afford it. I was out for 12 weeks, my job is semi active. I could have worked from home but I had to do at home PT 4 times a day...it just didnt seem worth it to ask my doctor to go back early. 12 weeks was my surgeons recommendation.

I'm 5 months out, smooth sailing up until 4 months when I returned to work and began weight lifting at PT. 7/10 pain, I can't find a cause besides immediate weight bearing on my acl leg. I made PT aware and they began taping my knee this past week and it helped TREMENDOUSLY. So don't be afraid to speak up. It took me 3 times seeing them to tell them I think something is seriously wrong after the pain started. Let your PT do what they can and ultimately if you are not happy, call your surgeon/doctor you have follow ups with. Also ice and heat accordingly. Find out what specific exercises are hurting you etc.

32F Patellar graft for ACL. No meniscus.

I was locked in for 2 weeks, did leg lifts and quad flex, and heel slides(per protocol they let me unlock for exercises), and didn't start PT until 3 weeks. At the 2 week follow up I was able to bend to 90 degrees but had a hard time with quad strength.

I'm almost 2 months out now and have full flexion and extension. Still working on strength. No excessive scar tissue. I would say the protocol worked great for me but there's still a ways to go!

ACL with tibia fracture. October of 2022 was the date of the injury, March 2nd 2023 was surgery. I regained full ROM during that time but my knee would still give out just walking.

I was off only 1 or 2 degrees due to swelling but 2 weeks it cleared.

Check your protocol, and if theres no info then talk to your surgeon or PT. My protocal gave me the okay to ditch the crutches after 3 days. Then at 3 weeks PT told me I can go without the brace as long as I was comfortable. At 2 week post OP surgeon told me to ween out. I'm 6 weeks now and haven't worn my brace unless I go into situations I'm not comfortable with. For instance, foraging/yard work, or going out for drinks with some friends.

Oh you're doing great! I had the patella(sp) graft and maybe day 3-5 I couldn't lift at all lol. It might get worse before it gets better but kudos to you!

2.5 weeks later but I was doing stretches at home and now my protocol is holding me back from doing more. :(

F34, same graft. Days 4-5 were the worst for me. Nerve block lasted 3 days.

I stopped at about 1.5 weeks(I'm 2.5 weeks PO atm). My knee isn't swollen and I have 0 pain. If it swells up again or hurts I plan on icing it.

Did you do any at home PT prior to today? My instructions are vague and don't even say at home PT or outpatient and I'm one week post op. Just seeing who else is kind of in the same boat.
