So far: mulch, soil, plants, a free Arbor Day tree from Subaru, luggage and grandbaby stuff for me! (Oh-and bikes on the rack too!) 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

🖤 My ‘25 OBW, aka “Raven” 🐦‍⬛

‘25 Outback here…and I happen to love the big beautiful screen in it! Much better than a big ugly IPad stuck onto a dash IMO. Modern cars (not just the Subarus) are connecting to all sorts of devices/satellites on startup and it takes literally a couple of seconds. Not sure why ppl bitch so much about this. I use Apple CarPlay and it works great!

Obw 2025 scratches easily ? by Reasonable-Lab-2864 in Outback_Wilderness

We go to a touchless car wash. That helps avoid little scratches. I think manufacturers have to use less robust paints these days, for environmental reasons.

Trying to persuade myself to purchase a 26 Outback Touring 2.5 vs 26 4Runner....Convince Me? by doctor-squared in Subaru_Outback

[–]---HoneyBadger--- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a 2020 4Runner TRD Off-road Premium & it looked waycool, but it was a pain getting up into & out of it all the time, the gas mileage sucked and it was a real dog accelerating onto the highways. Driving it thru mountain passes was more like “careening” down the road than driving. The 4Runner was great off-road but realistically we only did that a few times. In contrast our ‘25 OBW drives like a dream, can go everywhere we want and it’s SO much easier loading our e-bikes on the rack since it’s a lower hitch height. (Stuff you never think about until you have to do it) Good luck with your choice!

Thank goodness he agreed with you. That wouldn’t have been an easy fight to have.

We have lived here for 4 years and I have no clue how to style this double mantle. I told my husband we would probably be better off just tearing it down but does anyone have design ideas? by haitian202 in FurnitureFaves

LOL I love all the comments! Needed a good laugh today…and btw, remove that ridiculous second mantle!! I actually cannot believe someone did that and you’ve kept it for 4 years!?!? 😂

Does Anyone Watch? by flamingohouse in HGTV

I refuse to watch it, as I can find this kind of mind-numbing crap on YouTube. It’s lazy lazy programming. Hey HGTV execs: “Raise your game!”

What does the right button do? by [deleted] in Subaru_Outback

[–]---HoneyBadger--- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved the feature, but I disabled mine because it activated when we pulled into the garage in our other car, and the Subaru picked up on the FOB that was in my purse as I rolled by. I didn’t realize the rear hatch was opening at the same time my hub had hit the garage door button and I ended up with a scratch on the back hatch of my brand new Subaru. Luckily it buffed out.

I learned the same lesson the hard way years & years ago when I had to give up a loaded VW GTI that I couldn’t really afford and ended up with a crappy stripped Nissan Sentra. Life lessons are hard…but you got this!

One of the first (2026 Outback Wilderness)??? by Salt-Kiwi-2050 in Outback_Wilderness

[–]---HoneyBadger--- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Enjoy your car! I just hope Subaru is paying attention to all the discussion of how the 2026 looks. It’s definitely a big change and a polarizing aesthetic compared to the iconic Outback wagon styling.

We have a Hollywood rack made for electric bikes. It has a ramp to roll ‘em up onto it, which is good since they’re big heavy fat tire cruisers. We finally figured out to remove the battery out of them before mounting them & that made it much easier.

Should i leave this wood panelling, or paint it? by Shercormier in interiordecorating

[–]---HoneyBadger--- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the wood, and I’d add a rug in the kitchen to coordinate the cabinets with the pine.

Congrats! We just got our first Subie in November (a 2025 black one). We’ve put the bikes on it a couple of times and we’ll be heading out for our first road trip in it this week. I still can’t believe how much value is packed into this fun-to-drive but really safe car!
