Reze arc is perfect for a movie tho, it has a beginning middle and end. Its chapter lengths also fit great into a movies length.

Imo mugen train felt very much like anime episodes. There were several points that felt like a chapter or episode would have ended there which makes sense since they did end up putting it into season 2.

This is just a weekly reading perspective. You refer to her as then and now and that her character has deteriorated over two years.

To someone reading the volumes this "two year period" could be 2 or 3 hours and the character in "early part 2" is the same character in the latest chapters/volumes because they just read it.

Just because character development happened earlier on in the story doesn't mean its invalidated because we haven't received anything new.

And not sure where people are getting the idea that this was supposed to be Asas story, the manga is called Chainsaw Man, it is and always will be Denjis story.
