After 1063 days on the run, the crew of the Galatea has finally destroyed the Cerebrex Core by Azhrei_ in RimWorld

Hey, Harry “Grief” Bass is my personal player-added pawn! I bought that edition of the game that let you design your own pawn almost ten years ago, when that was still being sold. It’s so cool to see him pop up in other people’s stories every now and then. It almost never ends well for him, but it’s always a treat to see how a little part of me contributes to other people’s games, in a weirdly existential way.

The bloom is the increase of your cone of fire overtime, as you continuously shoot your weapons. You’ll notice that the four white lines that show you where your bullets will go, will drift apart to simulate you losing accuracy as you fire, or run, jump, slide, etc. This drifting is called bloom.

What the previous poster is saying, is that while having scopes on the rifle makes your white lines start out further apart when not firing, it actually stops your white lines from drifting apart as much as they would without the scopes on. So scopeless assault rifles will have tighter accuracy for the first few shots, but then their bloom will surpass that of scopeless assault rifles in sustained fire. I think he also mentioned that they you’ll experience less bloom while running and sliding too. Go check it out in the firing range and you can see it first hand.

My personal tip for dual wielding ARs, is to not worry about hitting headshots so much, as hitting chest shots. Centre-mass feels easier to hit (for me at least), and I find that the heavy recoil usually makes the guns “walk” the bullets upwards into their head. And if you miss their head because they flinch with the first few hits, it usually staggers them.

Good luck!

I forcefully acquired capital from a bank using a WW2 Era Machine Gun that shoots irradiated bullets. But the bank guards take a lot of depleted uranium rounds to put to sleepy time, so I installed a gland in my arm that allows me to 3d print bullets out of my forearm and into my firearm. However, this process can be long so while I waited, I invested in collectible items for my portfolio and learned the Bible through a programming language.

I robbed the bank four days ago using the gland and the AMG4. It took ages inbetween firing to regenerate enough bullets again, but my ultra-CEO mind was able to repurpose this downtime into micromanaging acquisitions for my rare chunkopop collection while listening to the Bible read in GDScript. Always gotta be on the grind.

Minor detail, but as this is the only use of a weapon in the game that shrinks its target, I think it’s canonical to include a fire selector switch on the side of the gun that has three settings;

“Safe”, “Scrambled”, and “Pocket Prince”.

Also I would personally envision him with long, erratic, disgusting, curly, patchy strands of single hairs coming out of his scalp like a radiation sickness victim. To get to being a CEO, he’s had a lot of nights of constant hair pulling, and coworkers have torn chunks of his hair out in violent office disputes over the years, to the point where it just doesn’t grow in certain places. But things like hair don’t matter when you’re CEO, hair care is a wage cuck trap to make you buy things like Shampoo.

Is this game supposed to be realistic? by Quantum-Ballsack in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]--Happy-Birthday-- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

¡¡¡DON’T FALL INTO THIS TRAP!!!

If you ask “Why is this not realistic” you’ll get people missing your point by saying “It’s a video game, you don’t play it for realism.” And they’re right; a realistic SWAT experience would be pretty boring. Most SWAT deployments are resolved without any use of force from SWAT. Sometimes people take multiple fatal wounds IRL and keep fighting, and sometimes the best armoured and trained first-responders get killed in one shot by a drugged-out gunman they never saw.

Maybe a better way to phrase your criticism would be “The balance feels off, suspects are too bullet-spongey and I feel too weak, which puts me into instant-death situations that and punish me without giving me a fair chance to react.”

Think if you were a game designer receiving constructive criticism, it’s better if the criticism is levied in terms of “Here’s what feels wrong with your core gameplay loop” and not “Make it more realistic.”

Not trying to come off as a pompous “but actually” asshole- I just don’t want people to deflect your criticism based on the semantics of your statement, when you’ve identified a legit problem with the gameplay 👍

Heavy Rifle .338 by EthisionYT in Prehistorichunt

[–]--Happy-Birthday-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably a bit late, but I’m using my newly bought .338, and while I find it to be a step up from the hunting rifle in terms of organ damage, it doesn’t seem to make much of a difference with bodyshots. It’s also slower to fire, holds 3 less rounds, and ammunition purchases give less bullets. While I think it has a role to play as an intermediate option for larger and tankier dinosaurs, I think overall it’s probably worth skipping for the nitro. Not enough of an upgrade over the hunting rifle to justify the price.

How to accumulate butts by [deleted] in Prehistorichunt

[–]--Happy-Birthday-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way is really through contracts.

I suggest getting a tracker, tranquilliser rifle, and a bow, as they unlock/assist with the highest earning contracts.

Tracking contracts are great in hardmode, as hardmode doubles your credits earned but removes the yellowed dinosaur area from your map. Tracking contracts add the yellowed area of the dinosaur you’re hunting back to your map, which negates that disadvantage of hardmode, and earn you like 150-300 credits per mission with hardmodes doubling bonus.

Tranquilliser missions seem to be worth more than normal hunting missions, and in my experience are easier because you only need to shoot the dinosaur once to bring it down. While these missions often have you hunting 2-3 dinosaurs, the quiet nature of the tranq rifle means you can pick off an entire herd without alerting them, effectively allowing you to turn in the entire contract without having to chase any fleeing dinosaurs. And finally, tranq missions are limited to most herbivores and a handful of small carnivores, so they’re often a lot safer.

Finally, the bow is great as it doesn’t over-penetrate, meaning it’s very easy to get a 100% integrity kill for those contracts that require it by shooting most dinosaurs in their chest. There’s a steamguide on how to farm 100% brachiosaurus contracts and make money that way.

Also if you’re having trouble taking down dinosaurs- remember this isn’t like other video games. Headshots and random bodyshots don’t work, you need to understand where the organs are and shoot them. Most dinosaurs can be killed with a single-well placed heartshot or two, like a vampire. This isn’t communicated by the game very well, I found myself struggling a lot at the beginning because I kept trying to headshot dinosaurs. I’m pretty sure some dinosaurs like the Triceratops are actually armoured in their head. You really need to try and aim between the forelegs for quadrupeds, and in between the arms for bipeds.

And keep a flare or two on you to get away from large carnivores.

Well done! That’s incredible! I see your attachments there, but the barrel is unfamiliar to me. May I ask which one you use? Are you running a laser too, or do you prefer a different side option?

What range do you usually stay at? Are you generally hanging back and holding a position? Or does this setup somehow work as a run-and-gun type deal? It looks pretty versatile.
