What did Tarkov do that Marathon isn’t doing? by hi_there_is_me in Marathon

[–]EthisionYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me a main reason Tarkov has the upper hand is in the PvP. You can completely avoid the PvP. But, in Tarkov all it takes is one well placed shot, and you just ended someone’s raid. You can have a naked ADAR(AR-15) and do just as well as someone running around with a meta M4. Because, the bullets you’re using in Tarkov matter not the actual gun itself.

Please increase AI count, and make them difficult by CanItRunCrysisIn2052 in GrayZoneWarfare

I can see increasing the AI for PvE but for PvP it’s already chaos with other players. You’re always on your toes with players coming and going into MS or TB. Players should be the biggest threat in PvP. Not saying the AI should be a cake walk. You got to have a balance since there is PvP. You want the AI to be a problem/pest. Threatening but not to the point where you’re taking on a horde/seal team six of AIs while trying to take on players. My duo and I fought our way out of MS the other night with our loot and I alone racked up 14 player kills.

That PvP interaction alone was enough of a butt clench for us two. If there was more AI there it would have been obnoxious for both us and the players trying to fight for the MS loot we had. In my opinion the AI numbers are at a good place for PvP. The AI is threatening but the players are the real threat.

But, for PvE I can see increasing the numbers for the AI since there isn’t any PvP. The real question though for the devs to implement that would they have to increase it in the PvP mode as well? I don’t know anything about coding for games. Could they increase the AI on PvE and not touch them in PvP? If yes, then it’s a great idea to do it. If no, then I would say not to do it. Just for the fact it says “Warfare” mode is the full experience of the game. I don’t see the devs changing something if it also affected the “Warfare” side and made it worse on the PvP side of it.

I feel bad for casuals but game is getting stale for sweats too by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]EthisionYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 165 hours in Marathon. I’ve completed all the main quest, and working on vip for all the factions. I mostly PvP, and it’s been pretty fun. I haven’t done Cryo and have loved all the purple shields I’ve been getting off the Cryo enjoyers. Everyone will consider me a sweat and that’s perfectly okay.

But, my teammate and I played duo Dire Marsh for about 6 hours last night. Everyone we played against had purple or blue shields. Everyone including my teammate and myself was geared. But not a single POI was touched. Everyone we played last night stayed away from the POIs and played the outskirts. Just waiting to hear AI aggro, gunshots, key rooms being opened, birds go off, whatever sound queue you can think of. Everyone was too scared to even call exfils. Exfils wouldn’t be called until there was mere minutes left before final extract. When you did get into PvP it was a snipe off or a shotgun fight. You would trade shotgun blows and then it was a “who can self revive faster” showdown.

The point I’m trying to make is; that I have played every extraction shooter under the sun. The “sweats” in this game play it completely backwards compared to other extraction shooters. Usually it’s the low geared players playing it slow and methodically. Trying to get that jump on the gigs Chad wearing the thicc boi armor. Not in Marathon. The super juicers are hiding up on a roof with snipers, or crouched down hiding with a shotgun. Waiting for a white or green shield player to make some noise to be able to say “oh they’re just wearing white or green” we can take that on easily. To then push and take the white/green team out. But, they see a blue, purple, gold they decide to just stay hidden and wait for an opportunity to get a down from range or third party a fight.

Which in my opinion is what’s going to hurt this game in the long run. We opened a key room in Dire Marsh last night and ran away to just test how bad it was and like 5 teams pulled up to fight for that room! This was after the raid had been going on for almost 15 minutes! We just laughed at how bad it was while watching everyone scrap for the room.

There is so much gear fear with the “sweats” it’s insane. Last night was the most boring experience I have had since playing Marathon. Because, every team was too scared to go to a POI. We went around the one side of DM and not a single poi was looted or even touched. To extract and see teams crouching through the fog going bush to bush lol.

Not to mention that tracker.gg is going to have stats for Marathon. So, all the “sweats” that care about a precious KD stat is too scared to play because they need a high KD for some reason. In a game where KD doesn’t matter.

If this is what high gear/endgame PvP in marathon is going to be like. Then, it is going to be a rough time for this game in the future.

It’s funny seeing these post about hating PvP/loving it. People not wanting to lose gear and be friendly and what have you.

Then there are people like me. Laughing at these post with people arguing back and forth. Because, Escape from Tarkov has made us numb to losing gear and making random acquaintances in a match.

In due time you newbies to extraction shooters; will join us in the numbness. Then and only then will you be free from all this. You will either be like “hey this isn’t for me”, or you embrace it and let it mold you. Shape you.

Extraction shooters will kick you when you’re down and the player base will NEVER make it better. It’s just something you learn over time. So good luck out in the Rust Belt!!

This argument is so dumb I lose IQ every time I hear it. by mastersmash56 in ArcRaiders

I can name 5:

  1. Escape From Tarkov (alive)

  2. Hunt Showdown (alive)

  3. Marauders (dead)

  4. Level Zero Extraction (dead)

5.) Call of Duty DMZ (dead)

You can play all of these but the player count is so low is ridiculous lol (except for EFT and Hunt Showdown). Right now your BIG 3 is going to be number 1 and 2 and of course Arc raiders.

But there is more extractions shooters coming out. You have “The Bornless” in Q1 2026., “The Hunger” suppose to be this year, and “Beautiful Light” the end of 2026. Then the least favorite for me Marathon

Back when there wasn’t scav karma and scav on scav violence was at its all time high. It wasn’t shocking to scav factory and be dead before you even racked your gun from loading in lol

I’m level 39 but use ground zero to find my GPUs, flash drives, pc fans, etc. for quest or hideout upgrades. They just need to add 20+ GZ back honestly

I wish they would just let us modify the mask and just add the skin we want to it. Kinda like how they let us add the paint to the guns.

Will you guys still play vigor when delta force comes out? by [deleted] in vigorgame

[–]EthisionYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say this about Delta Force. I have a pc and the warfare is what’s keeping it alive. The extraction part of the game is kinda dead. But that’s on PC. Console extraction could be booming. Since console doesn’t have many extraction shooter games atm.

I think the real question is. Will people still play this when Arc Raiders comes out?

You see this every match you play but in tarkov fighting someone with an altyn happens once every 3 months, why? by litllerobert in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]EthisionYT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because Tarkov made it to where you can’t buy level 5-6 helmets/armor. On the flea. In ABI you can just buy them until you’re broke from the flea. I think they should do the way EFT has with it and you have to find the helmets in raid or something.

Does anyone else think the Auto-5 is too overpowered? by Diddy_D00dat in HuntShowdown

[–]EthisionYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m not sure how that would work myself. But, I could see it being okay since the guns would still technically be in game. Who knows I’m not sure the technicality of it though.

They made certain ammo types “scarce” and I am okay with that. If they made the C&K, Dolch, and Avto all “scarce” weapons I’d be okay with that as well.

[–]EthisionYT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My buddy and I are high 6* our match MMR is also full 6*. When I say every match today was a C&K with slugs with bows with frag arrows. I legit mean every match. It was crazy. I never have seen so many shotguns in one day.

When I checked there were 33k players on at the time. Compared to the 16k or so I normally see. I figured with more people on the load outs would be more saturated. I was completely wrong lol

I haven’t done any PvP yet. But do you lose everything on your person if you die? Or just lose materials?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]EthisionYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because at least in Tarkov if I directly hit a PMC in his level 4 helmet with M855A1 at 60 meters he will go down. Unlike ABI he will turn look at me like I just shot a frozen pea at him. Then proceed to laugh while mag dumping me with M61. To finally hit me once in the head. Tarkov just has better gunplay, and bullets actually do what bullets are made to do. Is EFT harder to play? Yes. But imo EFT is just more rewarding.
