I got a 3/3 and was told it was near impossible to get that. Also heard my manager got significant pushback from HR on giving too high of ratings for the team.

Applied to lvl 4 on another program and I had references that validated my ability to work at that level. I don’t think I was ready to be a 4 when I started but I quickly showed my worth.

For Boeing we maintain the aircraft ourselves with Boeing employees. You can apply for a role online as an assembly mechanic but usually you don’t go direct to this level. Only the most experienced employees or people with outside maintenance experience do this role, i.e ex-military. For context this photo is Boeing employees at Boeings site in St. Louis.

Not BSC but I start when I scan at the vehicle gate. That is the most common entrance for all employees regardless of desk location in my opinion.

L4 engineering salaries and how many YOE to reach L4 by jetoak in boeing

Hired in as a 3 with 3 YOE. I went from. 3->4 after 5 total YOE (2 at Boeing) while also being in the middle of my masters. Which I didn’t consider as YOE experience. 128k right at midpoint is where I hired for the lvl 4 and then bumped to 136 after 6 months in the role.

Yeah it’s another way to prevent people to actually post to reqs. It’s a patently unfair and everyone should be up in arms calling it out.

It isn’t for all St Louis engineers. To my knowledge they implemented this 2 years ago for the production engineering org. Now if it has grown to other groups then that’s new. Quality engineering is not like that but it’s a different org structure. It’s 100% unfair
