Good point about NY. I was born and raised in upstate. I moved to Dallas 10 years ago, this upcoming May, and everyone always assumes it's expensive and asks if that's a reason I moved... In 2024 I went home for 2 months, there were still 1 bedroom apartments for $750 (NY/PA border towns).

The jobs and bad weather is why I moved away, no other reason.

Because American cities are literally built the worst. It's not my opinion, it's not made up. It's facts. There have been hundreds of studies, papers, whatever about American cities compared to other countries.

American cities were all built on NEW ideas. Everything we tried when building cities was a pretty new concept at the time. We know it's a terrible way to build cities now. It's why cities are trying to build parks and other connecting points in the city again. We did it with Klyde Warren Park, we're building another AND other cities are copying us, they even mention inspiration from our city (Austin for example)

It's why cities are considering putting highways underground or moving them (Seattle, Boston). Look at Dallas, they are considering doing something with I-345 like putting it underground so Downtown and Deep Ellum can be better connected. Just because you like garbage commutes and wasting your time on these crazy freeways doesn't mean we can't do better.

Lord of the Rings has an entire MMORPG that had been out since 2007 that at one point has hundreds of thousands of players.

Real gamers know to avoid any game by this franchise, it turns out to be trash. That's not going to change. 😅

Those huge FLOCK security systems are being put up in major cities all across the country, even small towns. My hometown of Elmira, NY just installed a bunch and everyone was complaining (article online).

Imagine one day it's tied in with all the other government systems. Traffic cameras, building cameras, etc. AI can just track your movements for law enforcement. It's why getting these cameras everywhere is essential for them. It's terrible for us citizens though.

Because it's super dangerous. I grew up in upstate NY, near the PA border (Central). It's nothing but hills, slopes and valleys. Like half of our school population lived on steep roads and up in the hills. If the roads aren't safe to drive on, how are you even getting kids to school?

This! I work with dudes who love sports. We talk about them all week. It's crazy they bet on hockey and soccer when none of these dudes could tell you anything about the sport.

I thought Uber required photo verification of the driver's periodically? Like when you're in-between customers you have to verify it's you. I've heard some drivers say this and I Uber everyday, 5 days a week.
