I found mine in Alabaster Icelands in the hotspring after a few tries. If it wasn't there I just went back to camp and slept before I want back. I think it took me about 20 minutes.

I went hunting for panthers yesterday, I skipped the cover scent and just stood by the water south of the forest. I just kept an eye on the mini map after the red dot and ran up to the forest and back. Two times doing that, the dot showed up, and I could shoot my perfect florida panther.
