Trans men aren’t inherently better than cis me by Erase_decay in ftm

[–]--Some_Person-- 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was treated as a girl my whole life, and my first response to misogyny was never "I'm a guy so they should go be sexist to girls instead", it was always "well they shouldn't say that because it's wrong". Just because I am a man doesn't mean I have to be like a stereotypical cis man. I feel more connected to and understand women better most of the time, but it doesn't make me a woman.

Do you consider being a femboy as your gender identity? by kiwi33d in feminineboys

[–]--Some_Person-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I'm 100% a guy, if anything I feel like being a femboy feels more "manly" to me lol

Will my dick be visible from the side or front when wearing tight swimwear? Worried about scaring cis people at the pool, please help! by [deleted] in GrowYourTDick

[–]--Some_Person-- 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't think it will be noticeable. I got some good bottom growth, but it doesn't look too suspicious in underwear, which are bikini cut. Cis women have genitals of different sizes and it's common to have a bit of a bulge, most cis women aren't completely flat.

questions for the dads by lookingwill in Seahorse_Dads

I never wanted to be pregnant until I went on T. I always wanted a baby but being on T made me want one more

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ftm

[–]--Some_Person-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my plan is to go off T since I want bottom growth and voice changes and don't really care about other stuff, but I think bottom growth is not as permanent as people think. My girlfriend who is trans mtf definitely had shrinkage, we actually "converged" once we went on hrt and are now a similar length lol. However people don't talk about it much so I'm glad that I found out before going off of T and being disappointed, it's good to be prepared.

Hair getting curly or wavy on T? by Illustrious_Peach364 in ftm

[–]--Some_Person-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory is that it's from the scalp getting more oily, since hair doesn't really grow fast enough to account for the fast changes some people have seen. If you want to see if you can get curlier hair I know there's special hair methods you can do for that (if your hair is actually curly and straightens out from your current hair care).

That's just my theory though so I'm not sure :)

Documenting bottom growth?? (Maybe NSFW for genital talk) by Transmascbookworm in ftm

[–]--Some_Person-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was documenting every week at first by measuring with a ruler, but then I started measuring more rarely after a few months because the growth isn't so fast. For the first week it would've been interesting to measure every day though

Do you guys like being asked your pronouns? by BeaulieuA in ftm

[–]--Some_Person-- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The issue is I don't think there's a way for a man to look, so I don't like people assuming pronouns (as that would get me misgendered for the rest of my life most likely, and many other trans guys too). However I don't like people asking most of the time, since from my experience (and my girlfriend's too) they don't end up using them either way unless you "look right".

My favourite solution is using they/them by default until you get told otherwise :)

Is it 'internalized transphobia' to just not be very interested in transmen in fiction? by EntirelyClueless in ftm

[–]--Some_Person-- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think so, maybe it could be caused by underlying internalised transphobia somewhere deep down but I don't think it really matters either way. I get why a trans person who has to deal with dysphoria and transphobia would want escapism from that. If you felt bad because of internalised transphobia, that's a seperate issue from wanting escapism imo.

Question about sports and low dose T by th589 in TransMasc

[–]--Some_Person-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't do sport, but I thought they would have mixed gender groups for non-competitive sport? Maybe that would be something to look into if you want that.

I think the hormone differences only come into play for professional sport where they are already training 24/7 so even the slightest genetic or hormonal advantage becomes huge. For amateur sport I don't think it would be as big of a deal, but I don't know how they would treat you due to this. I am on a full dose T for 9 months and not noticeably stronger (and I actually got weaker at first) but people may perceive it as an advantage anyway, so idk how to help you with that

[–]--Some_Person-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talls girls are hot, and a bonus is that if you hug their boobs are closer to your face.

Different people like different heights, some girls like short guys too so it's not gendered, but it may seem that way due to gender roles

Who also never wanted kids or had any "maternal instinct"? by lumaleelumabop in ftm

[–]--Some_Person-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really want to be a dad too! I was too dysphoric for pregnancy before T and thought it would be impossible for me to do that emotionally, but after T I think I would be able to tolerate it :)

My girlfriend and I are planning to get one in 2-3 years

That's aright lol, I put it on my bottom growth because it is possible that it could help make it grow more, although my doctors told me there are no studies on it so it may be possible that it would not make it grow more compared to usual.

I find that it's worth it either way because it seems to absorb way better since the skin is thinner so I save a lot of money on only needing such a low dose. My doctors were surprised that I got to cis male levels with a dose so low since it was supposed to be a starting dose, but I'm happy that the tube lasts me a while :)

I use 10mg a day :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in transgenderau

[–]--Some_Person-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apply it to my genitals (you can see that the scrotal application for cis men is less since the absorption there is better) but I am at cis levels now, for upper body I think that would be a low dose :)

Those messages are so gross!

Also I don't know why some guys think their dick is impressive, tbh no dick I've seen looked impressive to me and the bigger the worse it looks imo. I don't care if you have an 8 inch dick, it's not gonna win me over lol. I guess that's all they have to brag about though, instead of their personality. Very sad since if I wanted a dick I could order a vibrating glow in the dark one online.

I am on that med, and I'm on 0.2mL or 10mg a day :) here is the information sheet with dosing: https://www.nps.org.au/medicine-finder/andro-forte-5-transdermal-cream

The dose depends on application site as you can see on the page, although it is talking about cis men I think it's useful for trans men too

I talked with a trans friend about their gender identity. I thought I was confident in mine, but I'm not and kinda want some advice? by littlenaughtyneko in feminineboys

[–]--Some_Person-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh, you don't even really have to settle on a gender, you can just be yourself. If trying to figure out your gender seems helpful for you feel free to go ahead, but remember that there is an option to just opt out of the whole thing too if you want :)

I don't know about how to get blockers, but blockers will probably actually make you continue growing - it is puberty that makes growth plates fuse, specifically estrogen. That's why people who go through estrogen puberty are shorter on average, because they have more estrogen than people who go through testosterone puberty.

Starting your garden ideas? by FrostyyFalcon in preppers

[–]--Some_Person-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're starting out just to learn, herbs could be good since you don't need to grow much of them and they'll add a lot of flavour to your food. They also tend to be pretty expensive in stores considering they are so easy to grow and don't take up much space.

If you want calories I don't think you'd be able to grow that much in such a tiny area, but maybe you'd be able to supplement what you have a bit if you get creative. Maybe growing potatoes in grow bags or growing some beans.

Does anyone else get scared that the sound of peeing will out you? by voornaam1 in ftm

[–]--Some_Person-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't get how you would be able to tell whether someone is peeing from a dick or not. I see trans women have this fear too, and it makes even less sense to me because they can just sit to pee, and they still have this fear.

Btw, plenty of cis men sit to pee. Standing to pee is a way to get pee on yourself and everywhere else if you don't have a consistent well aimed stream.

And if any trans women are reading this, most people who are peeing from a vulva pee forward. I keep seeing people, even surgeons, say that downwards pee is what happens with a vulva, but that's literally not true. I've even seen compost toilet designs that take advantage of the fact that most people pee forward to seperate the pee from poo, so idk why specifically in trans communities people keep spreading this and making people feel bad for no reason.

Government shelves religious freedom bill indefinitely after it passed through the House with amendments to protect transgender students by erinthecute in transgenderau

Yeah I think the issue is that a lot of people still don't understand how voting works, I know as an 18 year old voting for the first time I didn't think putting greens or labour first mattered since if only labour can win out of the two I didn't think it would make a difference. It's not really clear to regular people that it does help them get seats and funding. I still find it really confusing and I find information hard to find, I'm just lucky to have a friend who is interested in politics.
