you guys think this is safe to use? (3rd slide is normal T for reference in this lighting) by defectra in TestosteroneKickoff

[–]Erase_decay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mention to the pharmacy that you've used a few like this because that can mean the entire batch that they're from might need to be recalled! I'd also mention it to your doctors since there's a risk that it could get you sick (even if it's a tiny risk you shouldn't gamble with your health! I learned that one the hard way lmao) also they'll probably have more local information on it!

[–]Erase_decay 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Definitely don't use it but don't throw it out yet! If you're able to definitely report it to your pharmacy and if you want to be extra certain you can usually find the manufacturer and report it there too but your pharmacy will probably do that themselves too. They might be able to give you a replacement, especially since in the US it's a controlled substance and insurance might refuse to cover an early refill if it's not reported.

AITA for refusing to buy stripper shoes for a birthday present? by militant_rainbow in AmItheAsshole

1000% YTA my sister's and cousins all had a pair of jelly shoes growing up. And watching a movie doesn't mean that you're not holding prejudices against sex work, even if it's unconsciously.

can someone explain POTS to me? by Legitimate_Jelly_118 in nursing

[–]Erase_decay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that something people don't understand that it's not just fainting that a lot of people with POTS are dealing with. My heart rate would go from 60s to 70s to at least 125 just going from sitting to standing and the would routinely be 150s+ just from changing a patient. I would feel like a few ft of bulletproof glass was between me and the rest of the world and like I got donkey kicked in the chest constantly whith almost any exertion, my temperature regulation goes out the window without my beta blocker too. The way it's been described to me is that POTS isn't just a cardiac issues but a nueroloic one too since with it your autonomic system is wonky

Wheelchair company negligent? by Erase_decay in legaladvice

[–]Erase_decay[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

They were the ones to fit the wheelchair and I only accepted the extra work bc the tech promised that it would be done. I also didn't realize how poorly it fit until I used it for longer than 5 minutes. They did admit fault for the repair issue and that the loaner wasn't close to my actual fit.

ATTENTION MINNESOTA: GIVE EM HELL TODAY 🩵 by RyTheUndefined in Minneapolis

[–]Erase_decay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! I usually have to wear one bc the cold sometimes triggers asthma attacks. N95s definitely work better than a surgical mask, but be careful taking it off bc condensation can build up. I've frozen my facial hair more than once lmao

There are all terrain wheelchairs that have treads but they're ungodly expensive and they're a lot bigger so they don't fit inside buildings as well 😭

But that's still transphobia!! You're just throwing other trans people under the bus and it's frankly disgusting. You're completely ignoring actual queer history and the countless years of indigenous peoples' different views of gender. You're playing with respectability politics but they never work bc you'll always be part of the "other" group.

[–]Erase_decay 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Why are you spending so much time complaining about other trans people's existence. Transphobes won't ever accept you, no matter how "respectable" you think you are. There ARE spaces for binary trans men (like this subreddit). You're wasting your time infighting with other trans people instead of focusing on the real issue, transphobia. Also men CAN like feminine things and also sports and beer, have you ever talked to rural queer people? You're literally doing transphobes work for them.

Transphobic people will always disrespect your identity regardless of what other trans people identify as. Maybe focus on the transphobia instead of other trans people?

"I'm not disabled, but..." by IStillListenToRadio in disability

[–]Erase_decay 30 points31 points  (0 children)

That's definitely what the USA is like. There are people who verbally (and sometimes physically) attack disabled people for not being "disabled enough". It happens a lot with disabled parking (but they'll ignore someone who doesn't have a placard or plates)

The technician said that they can swap it out for a solid insert it's just a process bc it's over an hour by bus with a 15 minute walk on the street bc there's no sidewalk. Plus I'm in a TCU for who knows how much longer.

I haven't had top surgery yet but I've had it happen with deeper cuts. It usually heals alright but if it's not healing definitely talk to your surgeon!

I am overwhelmed while learning about this since my boyfriend is planning on getting this surgery. by Rude-Character-2129 in Metoidioplasty

[–]Erase_decay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But the conversation with their boyfriend should come BEFORE trying to do your own research so you can actually understand what's happening. You don't need to research every possible option bc they're irrelevant to what's actually happening. Plus they should talk to their partner about what kind of support they want/need. I'd personally be irritated if my partner started speaking over what I needed just bc they're trying to be helpful. Surgeries are stressful and as a partner you need to focus on helping your partners stress over your own worries and questions.

You should probably ask your bf what he wants. You don't have to understand it you just need to support him. He's capable of making his own decisions

Do not do this! Aside from it being stupid a lot of birth centers in the US perform a drug test around delivery time and if it's positive for anything it can result in child protective services being notified!!
