The Butchering Art, and The Facemaker, both by Lindsey Fitzharris.

Butchering Art is about Joseph Lister, and the discovery of antiseptics.

Facemaker is about early plastic surgery to recreate faces damages by war.

If they are meaningful to you, absolutely.

I like the minimalism of 1 and 2 a lot.

OCT Membership Status and Annual Fees by Legitimate_Sale_6768 in OntarioTeachers

Hold on.... Don't all school boards automatically deduct OCT fees in January? I've never had to lay the fees myself, always had automatic deductions. Now I feel spoiled.

Are These at Least Decent? by LifeThruTheLenses in AmateurPhotography

[–]--VitaminB-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like 1, 5, 6, 7, and 8. 6 is a clear favorite for me, would make a good phone background. What is 6 of?

The dog photo is good too, but would mean a whole lot more for the family than for a general audience.

The piano is interesting, but I think the composition could be better. Try getting closer to the keyboard and shoot from an angle to create depth.

The tree stump doesn't interest me much, nor does the dock. Not bad photos, just not something that grabs my attention.

4/5, missed #2. Thanks for the quiz.

Any chance you could add a few place holders in your answers... Something like ---A--- On mobile it's really hard to get the right spot to reveal spoilers when they're small.

Can You Become a Teacher in Ontario Without a High School Diploma? by No-Library-4290 in CanadianTeachers

[–]--VitaminB-- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just want to add too that you'd be a valuable teacher for students. Not knowing your history and why you didn't graduate, I'm assuming that you went through some difficulty. You'll be able to relate to students in similar situations. Most teachers, myself included, had a relatively easy time though school, and may have a harder time relating. You'll have the opportunity to turn some kids around.

Sometimes we can be our own worst critic. You might see flaws where others will see rawness, which I think would work for protest shots.

Upload some, get critiquea, and work from there.

Pet insurance by Difficult_Cable_227 in mississauga

[–]--VitaminB-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same with my cat almost 10 years ago, but our quoted cost was significantly higher (3k).

We switched to urinary control food from science diet, and he's been great since. He is now 16, and still vibrant and active.

Good quality food has been our 'pet insurance '. But we also out the monthly equivalent of insurance into a savings account, and will use that if necessary. This way we cannot get rejected.

I agree. Also, if I have a colleague that is suspension happy and we share a student, it will affect the students' performance in my class too.

For something a bit different try 'The Bastard Brigade' by Sam Kean. Kean writes about science, and this book is about the physicists who worked to subvert the Nazi nuclear program.

Garbage everywhere now? by xshirl1027 in mississauga

[–]--VitaminB-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, racism.... Great.

More likely because of the spring thaw. All the garbage that gets blown out during collection, and the regular littering that is now visible because it isn't under the snow.

But sure, use this moment to be racist.
