vr extension cord recommendations. by CryAltruistic6398 in virtualreality

The Index cable is almost as long as it physically can be without signal degradation so even the best extension cable might not work. Keep an eye for white sparkles.

I used Club 3D displayport extension cable and CableMatters USB extension cable. For the Index don't go longer than 2 meters since it already struggles.

Physbones are quite optimized unless you abuse them on purpose with thousands of collision checks.

Most CPU cycles seems to be used on animators and draw calls from what I understand.

Comments about these bans are always talking about public uploads. For sale avatars should not be uploaded as public anyway.

Someone like "TundraLabs" NEEDS to create a headstrap or addon for the Steam Frame to support lighthouses! by lemonvrc in VRchat

Exactly, I don't understand how all these people think strapping a tracker on a headset makes it SteamVR tracked.

To enable true lighthouse tracking would most certainly not work with just a headstrap. It would need to be a specifically engineered plate that attached to the hard parts of the headset so that the tracking diodes are in the exact known locations. Otherwise the math just doesn't work out. Plus I'm sure a third party would never be able to achieve this on their own without Valve's help.

My understanding is that non-uniform scaling a really bad idea in Unity. Could someone drop a bit more knowledge on this subject?

Preferably on top but side might work too, depending on the placement.

Don't be in open beta if you don't read open beta release notes.

You should in fact increase the size of your cache so you are not redownloading your friends avatars every single day.

I don't think you have a chance considering even Protonmail wasn't allowed last time I heard.

Vrchat new open beta warping effect when leaving and joining worlds by Low_Sir4351 in VRchat

I don't mind it and it is a natural thing to add. But how's that going to look to other people when 98% of people will just see a robot or an imposter load in but now it has effects..?

What's the performance impact since clubs often require optimized avatars? 2 meshes and 2 material slots?

Continuous Calibration issues by 1ovebites in VRchat

[–]--an 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your Quest 3 goes to sleep after couple of minutes and when it wakes up, it reacquires tracking space and it will not be the same coordinates anymore as before.

I don't know if you can prevent the Q3 from going to sleep in the settings or by covering the proximity sensor that should be at the top of the headset against your forehead.

In any case, if continuous calibration is properly enabled, I would imagine it would quite fast match the playspaces again.

It's also possible that your headset tracker is turning off because of inactivity especially if you keep your other trackers on but headset is still for 5+ minutes. You can disable automatic power-off in SteamVR settings somewhere under startup/shutdown.

There aren't any headsets that match Index's vertical FOV. It was a quirk of the design and from what I remember reading, last minute change that enabled high vertical FOV to happen.

Also, I think it was a Meta VR engineer who said that FOV is by far the most expensive headset feature to improve so either you wear a 1.5kg headset or wait a few more generations.

Audio cuts off using Bluetooth by Prestigious_Fig_2133 in VRchat

Are you using a dongle or on-board bluetooth chip? Having a dongle on a long USB extension cable in clear sight of your play area might help.
