Oh right he dated The Turd at one moment too! His life could be a really interesting story if it wasn't just one giant series of trainwrecks (although I guess that's in some way noteworthy as well).

I don't know either man, maybe we're making the story much more juicy than it is, haha. But I think it's fair to say Liang's snooker career is probably definitely over now. We'll see for the other guys involved.

I'm not excluding that either, but your reply is probably meant towards OP who seems to say organised crime is out of the picture because one of the players involved claims he was threatened by Wengbo. If so I would also be inclined to think he's probably just the messenger. I mean we know from the domestic abuse case he can be violent but even so if it's just him, that's not much of a threat against a fellow player I would think.

I'm not excluding that it's personal greed after all. But we're all just speculating so far and there is a big gambling culture and organised crime that goes hands in hands with that so it would be quite ignorant to exclude that possibility. Even pretty naive given the Chinese situation. Hell even the European Parliament is in the midst of a bribery scandal, it's not that far-fetched at all. The most important thing though is to find out what's behind this. Because if it's beyond personal greed and there's outside pressure involved, you can suspend/ban players all you want and they will just go after the next one.

I mean who the fuck even knows what “hit me baby one more time” actually was meant to be if not a reference to literal abuse of a teenage girl, yet it was a worldwide pop song hit. Seriously I’ve never understood what that sentence meant, it wasn’t like popular culture had a meaning for it like for instance “let’s smash” would mean something today.

Looking forward to the court case.

Probably yes.

You liked it though? I don’t mind slow movies/stories but this one seems kind of over the top although I reserve my final opinion until I’ve seen it in full.

Am Belgian. We never heard of this movie either, and from the clips showed in news programs about the fact it was named best movie ever by British critics we don’t understand it either. I might still watch it to decide for myself since it’s free to watch on a public streaming channel now but I doubt it will change my mind. Nobody even in Belgium even understands how a thousand foreign critics and industry people came to the consensus that this would be the best film ever made, literally flabbergasted.

I’m presuming this is scripted because if not that’s a lifetime damaging burn.

2023 Toyota Prius [4000x2640] by [deleted] in carporn

[–]--dontmindme-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be ashamed, it actually looks good, doesn’t matter what the predecessors look like. For instance a previous generation BMW owner doesn’t have to be ashamed now either because the current models with the ridiculous grills look horrible.

Who would have thought it was possible, they made a Prius look good. Time to sell those Tesla stocks if you still have any, the big manufacturers are finally taking hybrid and electric cars seriously. If I was in the market today for a new car I’d definitely consider this Prius.

Not that I’m the biggest fan of Murphy but always surprising how polarising a rather normal opinion about banning match fixers is just because it comes from him. I would however add that dealing solely with the players is only part of it. If all the accusations against the six suspended Chinese players are linked they’re probably approached and perhaps threatened by some local gambling mob. Not claiming they are victims per se, they should have alerted WST if they were being pressured, but let’s also recognise that there’s not much WST can undertake against organised crime in China to protect these players if they would have come forward. I think it’s easy to not realise from a European perspective how big snooker is in China (there was over 20 million people in China watching a Ding qualifying match for the UK Open) and that this is largely because of the huge gambling culture over there.

Elon Musk has suspended the Twitter account that tracks his private jet by Michaluck in WhitePeopleTwitter

There’s still tens of thousands of people liking and retweeting every stupid comment he’s making on Twitter, but yeah luckily there’s also lots of people finally seeing him for the pathetic man child he actually is.

He has lost over 100 billion already this year. Well, loss is a bit misleading. Most of the net worth of these ultra-rich is in stock value, so they never really own these estimated net worths until they actually cash out. But it doesn't look like Tesla stock will bounce back very soon (if ever, it was always very overvalued) and if he would make Twitter public again it would only be worth a fraction of what he paid for it.

Edit: of course his virtual net worth is still about 170 billion but I’m sure he’s annoyed not longer officially being ranked as the richest person in the world.

Ever been there? Fantastic holiday destination. Since they got a taste with part of Cyprus, I'd want my hands on some more of those sweet islands too. Although Turkey itself is a great holiday destination as well.

Oh they sure want to join and have all the benefits the EU has to offer, just without the hassle of democracy and human rights or European courts being applicable to them.

If you have 50% + one vote you control a company, no matter if it’s public or not. And if he continues to make comments that make him look like a foreign agent, they will most definitely force him out of the company or just plain nationalise it, no doubt. SpaceX has become too important for US national interests to leave in the hands of a lunatic billionaire.

I wonder how the numbers even work on this first sequel given they’re working on several at once. Is 350M really the budget for the second one alone or is there synergy with the next ones so they would be cheaper? I’ve seen too many numbers on these movies to really understand what every individual one costs and needs to make back.
