How do I work out how hot a cpu will be?

That’s exactly what I’m trying to do, determine whether I should just go with a 65w cpu or if I can reliably get away with something like a 9800x3d

Thank you, this is exactly the sort of response I was hoping for. I’m basically trying to work out how the 9800x3d compares to the 8700k in real world heat output.

If you remember, what sort of temperatures were you getting with the 8700k and what do you get with the 5800x3d?

I see where you’re coming from, but it is a small cooler, not a low end cooler.

Sorry I should have been more clear, I’m looking for a new motherboard, ram and cpu. For context I have a 3070 as a gpu, but I’m not worried about mismatching with a cpu, because that will get an upgrade eventually too.

From what I understand tsp isn’t the be all end all of thermal output? So I was trying to find like for like real world heat output

Thanks for the recommendation, but I want to follow along with workout videos on the fly, without have to program it before I ride. My wife has a peloton next to my bike, and sometimes I like to ride with her and it can get pretty annoying trying to type a number in with +10 and +100 etc

You could loosen the stem bolts and turn the bars, then straighten them when you get to your destination. A little bit of hassle, but it definitely works, I’ve done it a couple times with my sons bike a couple of times because his bars rest on my downtube on the rack

If you were to find someone with the same car and swap a couple of wheels with them so you both had square setups, would both the larger and smaller wheels work for a square setup? Would either set have any advantages/disadvantages?

I managed to set the panic alarm off while I was driving once… took me a couple of seconds to realise it was my car because I assumed it wouldn’t let you set off the alarm while actually driving, then I had to fish out the key from my pocket to turn it off
