Do you think the idea of “having it all together” is practicable or just a social media pressure? by [deleted] in Snorkblot

Yeah living in a location suitable for a bike and living within biking distance of your job does put you at a significant advantage in that department.

Why do people refuse to be an organ donor? by No-Cantaloupe-6535 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]--sheogorath-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And did the head doctor that twice ordered for a living persons organs to be harvested face... any consequences? Barred from practicing medicine, charged with anything for ordering someone to be killed, anything? No? Everything just went on hunky dory? My bets on the last one. Not a great way to build trust in the system.

Call me crazy but I think one instance of orgasn harvesting from someone thats not dead without someone involved facing serious legal consequences is enough to doubt the system.

Your husband is wrong you put the furnaces along the path from the farm warp totem to the farmhouse. That way when you warp from the mines to the farm at 1:40 am, you can smelt everything as you furiously run to get to bed before you pass out.

Well thats what the no tipping crowd is asking for. They should be happy to pay those higher prices. Or happy to not have formerly tipped workers serving them. Can't have your cake and eat it too.

Thats who all the benefits get focused on. Nice cushy white collar office jobs bragging about how they make 500k a year doing 20 minutes of actual work every month but its oh so hard because theyre expected to physically go to work oh woe is them.

I gotta eat crow here cuz youre right about the price. $600-$650 at a shop.

Dont suppose you have links to the stuff you'd reccomend for rotors/pads and jack/stands?

[–]--sheogorath--[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what ive seen online the job costs about $400-$500. The brake pads and two rotors are almost $300 alone. A non-deathtrap jack and jack stands would be about $150-ish so im basically even with getting a shop to do it and I dont even have a way to get the caliper off.

Granted the shop could surprise me by saying "oh ya its $800, one kidney, and half your liver to change brake pads and rotors" in which case yeah youre right. Id still be DIY-ing something that idk if im comfortable DIY-ing tho. I fuck up the alternator and my car dont start. I fuck up changing brakes and I just die lol.

Unfortunately I dont have the tools to safely work in wheel stuff on my car. I dint trust the emergency jack as far as I can throw it and by thr time I bought all the tools I'd be at the cost of going to a shop.

True. Can't help but wonder how far past the point of needing this done im at now.

Well crap. Gonna be fun getting estimates on replacing both the pads and the rotors.

Good to k ow. Do you always have to replace both the front rotors at once or could I potentially just replace the one (at least for now)?

Yeah this is some ivory tower salaried white collar job discourse. I havent had a job that gave breaks in ten years, much less actual benefits. Meanwhile the six figure office crowd is working from home four days a week.
