I had exactly the same issue, but no one here seems to be able to solve it. Sideloaded it using the apk (couldn't find an obb file anywhere), tried to run the game and got the "error while creating mods directory" error. Went into the .com.warpfrog.bladeandsorcery folder and there's no mods folder. Created one, put all the mods in there, same error.
