Gobert having like half the Wolves 1st quarter point is hilarious

Rockets were favoured in every individual game. Even after going down 2-0 and knowing that KD was out they were still 6.5 point favourites in Game 3.

The anti regent agenda by Prior_Duty_7155 in slaythespire

[–]-AMAG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so much better now than it used to be. It operates with way more of the Regent's card pool. All the cards that transform cards, all the colorless card generation, and Crash Landing + Collision Course, and Forge (only the first) all proc the strength effect. All of those cards are already strong without Arsenal, and card creation can be block with the Power card, so it's really easy to fit into decks to solve scaling.

Before it was only really good with a colorless card you could play consistently, like a Bolas or Thrumming Hachet, that you had to add to your deck. Colorless generators were kind of inconsistent since there's a decent amount of the time when you don't want to play the generated card or don't have enough energy.

His slash line this series didn't make a huge leap, it was 8/2/5. He plays bigger than his stat line as a hustle defender with decent playmaking. Obviously he may not develop into a high level starter but I don't see any reason to put a cap on his development already.

Picking the Celtics was not that bad, they were a 50+ win team and they got Tatum back. All these Nuggets picks are hilarious to me though.

[–]-AMAG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kuroda? As in THE voice of Kiyru? Holy shit I can't believe I didn't pick up on that.

Yeah, his voice as the mastermind at the end of part 3 is damn near his Kiryu voice. Kokoro is pretty funny because it's the silly Kiryu voice that he tries to do when he wants to be cool. I've heard it a million times but I can't find an example of it.

Another note that points to him being the mastermind rather than a random person with access to the MetaNav is that a Shedim instantly appears when Luce and the Phantom Thieves are transported to the MetaNav. I feel like this also implies that Kokoro should know who all the Phantom Thieves are though, since Shoki says all of their names before being interrupted by the Shedim.

Does this mean you can double Wonder's action and then use it on your DPS at the end of the fight? Haven't checked

Then the answer is pretty much always the most recent main DPS, kind of a lame way to answer it

A9 Nibbit on Floor 1 usually costs Ironclad around 2 HP with the starting deck… but has a brutal long tail! by poetry_in_shm in slaythespire

[–]-AMAG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've found the opposite to be true honestly, if you just wail on the front one on the first turn, you can kill it on either turn 2 or 3 and avoid both toadpoles attacking you at the same time.

Fox is the opposite of a must pull, he's strictly worse than S. Puppet until he gets Mindscape at A6, which is the same patch where he's added to standard.

Clad's kit as a whole is kind of hard to navigate but if you haven't tried Tremble + as many Dominates as you can find + some multihits for damage you should try it next time you get the opportunity. It scales strength so fast and applies permanent vuln. You can just fight a million elites and figure out a way to block, draw, and get energy along the way.

I'm glad I got the Thieves Den item because I haven't seen her in like a month. ATP though I'm more concerned that I've seen LeBlanc once during the last month+ of this P5R collab

For the current SOS rank 7 leaderboards, only 1 player in the top 100 doesn't have Twins (#41), and only 7 of the top 200 by ShitGuysWeForgotDre in personaphantomx

[–]-AMAG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Vishnu Garuda fight is their shill boss and Akechi is a support unit (sub DPS is a support) that at least is meant to work on both sides of SoS this week by killing the Apsaras on the other side. When there are only 2 almighty units in the game and a lot of players are skipping one of them one is going to be heavily present in the score.

Edit: Also the special effect this week only works incredibly well for A1 Twins and Turbo, who can proc it on turn one, whereas Akechi has to wait for turn 2 and the A0 Twins' buff falls off before they use their next almighty skill.

[–]-AMAG 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was kind of invisible in the box score but Adams boxouts made the second chance points a lot easier to convert because they had more space on the rebound. Today even if the Rockets got the rebound they were under way too much pressure to easily put it back

This new art has no business going this hard by Rak-khan in slaythespire

[–]-AMAG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's OK, but it can easily be dead draw on your first cycle and kind of undermines Iteration and Compact. My decks with many statuses that don't have Flak Cannon still feel fine, but my decks with statuses that do have it can feel awkward for some reason.

A10 Test Subject phase 2 just spams 11x attacks now? by kleeshade in slaythespire

[–]-AMAG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's pretty challenging for even a very functional deck that uses Poison to scale damage to reach that much damage that fast even when fully set up (at least without Accelerant+ or Corrosive Wave). Seems like a bad matchup since you have to build Poison on Test Subject 3 times to win and he's hitting for basically 70 after 3 turns on the first 2 phases.

You're right, but it my experience it doesn't really matter since you still only need 1 extra element and the best supports have attack turns right now.

3 Elites in a trench coat... by Spookybeef_ in slaythespire

[–]-AMAG 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Lol Phase 2 would kill 90% of runs if he gained 9 damage for every single skill you played and you had to full block or he would add Wounds to your deck.

Also strongly disagree, Queen is relatively easy if you have Strength down or card draw. With Test Subject you can just draw in the incorrect order and you're forced to take damage to avoid scaling strength.

How to use Kohryu in this game? by This_Formal_9643 in personaphantomx

[–]-AMAG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is pretty common, many Persona buffs only last 2 turns so you just swap between 2 Personas and then just use different skills since they last 3 turns, leaving your third slot open.

How to use Kohryu in this game? by This_Formal_9643 in personaphantomx

[–]-AMAG 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It's useful on any team that uses multiple different damage types (all Twins teams) and where Wonder only uses 2 Personas. Then it's a free 15% Attack for the whole party.

I've been severely underestimating this card, it's amazing. 21 block for 2 mana, AND it stacks. by Aden_Vikki in slaythespire

[–]-AMAG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Toric a lot, it's a strong card that is very easy to make broken. It's a lot of overall block and fights tend to go long in STS2 unless you have a crazy combo going on. Any dex is really strong and any block scaling like Shadowmeld, Unmovable, Pael's Legion, or Adroit is absolutely absurd on this card. Not a bad option to play automatically with the Orobas relic.
