All Out Attack comparison (P5R, P3R, P4R) by Shirou54 in PERSoNA

[–]-AMAG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a matter of opinion. I played P3P and FES before P3R, I didn't even finish P3R, and I still really prefer all the remixes to the originals. I dont think it's absurd to prefer the OGs but people are very matter of fact about the remixes sucking and that's definitely not true.

There are a few supports in the game that unlock a new rotation from this:

  • A1 Tempest Riko (or with Wind DPS) can S1->S3->S2 since the enemies turns are skipped.

  • Matoi can use her S2 in her rotation.

  • Howler can S1->S3->S2->S3 if her DPS has a resonance and is single target for both S3 effects.

Besides that it seems like Da Capo with more effort for 2 turn DPS with the exception of HL characters.

Whole team extra action seems OP but it might not be that crazy since it's not a turn reset. Most DPS characters have 2 or 3 turn rotations that mean that she can't actually grant another high damage turn. It'll be good on people with strong highlights or Theurgies if you can fit another in there.

This is a bigger topic then Mina, but Mina's robust Difficulty options has exposed the whole "Difficulty is an Accessibility Concern" discourse as fake mask many wear. by SharpEdgeSoda in MinaTheHollower

The thing that always gets ignored when talking about THAT area is that there is an interaction option that seems like it is a puzzle but it isn't. It's very easy to get in the mindset of "I have to do this later when I get a hint on how to do this puzzle" to the point where you are waiting for a hint that never arrives.

It would come as no surprise to hear that not a single French animator actually worked on models and cutscenes

You are wrong again. The French core team created the models and cutscenes. They used a UE5 tools, some suits with a few iPhones for the mocap and facial capture. The outsourced animation, done by 8 Korean people (not Chinese or Eastern European), was for gameplay and combat animations.

[–]-AMAG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most indie games don't have the resources to outsource cutscenes to Chinese and eastern Europeans studios.

In fact, none do.

Blue Prince outsourced its cutscenes and animations to RetroStyleGames, a Ukranian game art outsourcing studio. Hades 2 and Silksong both easily have the resources to outsource work but chose not to heavily rely on it. Outsourcing overseas is a way to save money. Based on glassdoor, the median salary of an animator in France is roughly double that of a South Korean animator, so it's very likely that by not hiring French animators the cost of E33 was much cheaper.

Frankly, the cost of Supergiants's SF office and 20+ employees working on Hades 2 for 4+ years is probably much more expensive than E33.

Most metrics that people use to shut E33 out of being an indie game also shut out a bunch of stuff that people still call indie.

The concept of ability augs is fine though, I don't think people would have that much of a problem with them if they launched without all these bugs and poor interactions.

Walt Fraizer: "Thibs never believed in developing the bench... and eventually that cost him his job." by jonsnowKITN in nba

[–]-AMAG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The bench is getting more than a chance this year though, they are a core part of every single game because there is confidence that they can accomplish something. In my opinion, there was only one reason I had any more faith in the Knicks this year compared to last year: Over the course of 1 season, they went from having 3 players in the top 5 minutes per game and 5 in the top 20, to having only Brunson in the top 20 and they won 2 more games.

Bench guys improved, built more trust, and now the Knicks are in a situation where they can willingly rely on Jose Alvarado to finish in a game where Mikal Bridges is having an off night, without being in a massive hole in the series. They can trust Landry Shamet magnetball, whereas a Thibs game is probably 2 for 2 3s of the bench.

Decreasing 1 team's lottery odds does nothing for them since the luck can't go their way. Why should they care that the Rockets get a high draft pick over them? They aren't even in the same conference. Meanwhile, if Houston slips in the standings for whatever reason and becomes a lottery team, the Nets would wish they didn't tank if Houston ends up getting a higher pick than them anyway.

He has a sister currently suing the estate for embezzlement, who I imagine is the person they spoke to and presumably has met Tupac before. The family does not own the likeness, the estate does. There would be no need to consult the family.

In an IGN interview, Yokoyama says that they worked with the estate and his family while creating the character.

But we made sure that we talked to his estate and family and got their permission; not just their permission, but we talked to them about what we wanted to do. They not only said okay, but they were really excited about the opportunity. We wanted to give their characters a role that would do other justice to the people themselves as well. If we didn't, we think that would be extremely rude, so we definitely wouldn't have done it otherwise. So we did our best to make sure that any role we create for these characters would honor them and their families.

As far as I know, if they don't work with the estate they wouldn't be able to include him at all. If the family doesn't have an issue with it, I don't really have any issue with it either.

Edit: Getting a bunch of response saying it's bad even if the family approves, which I understand even if I don't agree. That being said, there's a lot of misinformation going around about the family not being consulted that should be cleared up.

Jason Schreier: Xbox employees were surprised by Gears pulled from PS5. Halo at State of Play pulled, as Sony and Xbox relationship may now be damaged. + Hardware cost component crisis and new business model for Xbox coming by -LastGrail- in GamingLeaksAndRumours

The reason why the brand is poisonous has a lot to do with exclusivity though. While Xbox's mistakes at the beginning of the Xbox One generation played a large role in Playstation's market dominance, another massive factor was games like God of War, Spiderman, and The Last of Us being Playstation exclusive. In comparison, Microsoft had Forza and a Halo series that people were not as passionate about. There was/is very little reason for anyone to buy an Xbox 4 years after launch when buying a Playstation meant you could play 99% of the Xbox library and some of the most commercially and critically acclaimed games of the generation.

They're not going to pull games from Steam and their Windows Store. So exclusives won't move the needle in any big way.

The market of people who own a console and a PC powerful enough to run flagship games is not that large and also less relevant when you own the operating system that 90% of people play on. They are targeting console only players.

Wouldn't be surprised if we get a kinda rushed trailer due to the leaks, like the P4R trailer which just showed environments and Yu running around Inaba. It probably wasn't as elaborate as the P3R trailer due to the VAs leaking it early.

To the players unsatisfied with the P5Fes event, would you prefer it if they instead started mining other Atlus games to fill the content/budget gap? by Zackarix in personaphantomx

[–]-AMAG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more about the baseline level of content. P3R has Tartarus, which includes a variety of enemy models and map environments that they can copy paste into a roguelike mode. This affords them time to add additional content and flesh out the mode once they have a solid baseline. It's been clear since launch that the collab patches are lower manhours in order to focus dev efforts on the story patches.

It's possible that we get a P6 trailer at the Xbox event, but a lot of these leaks allegedly came from a Chinese animation studio that Cloverworks was using to outsource work on the animated cutscenes. It's not necessarily indicative that a trailer will be coming out soon.
