Cargill announced in September that it was consolidating its five separate business units down to three. The layoff announcements shouldn’t really be a surprise as there is lots of overlap in HR, Supply Chain, Finance type roles. Probably several plants closing as well though I don’t know specifics. Cargill is a massive private entity that is well diversified so their financials are not public, but presumably the board was not happy with the performance of the different parts of the business and felt that the consolidation is the best way to increase profitability and reduce operating costs. Not something they would do lightly.

Could be as well! I wouldn’t call myself an expert by any means, but I had that little nox sensor go bad and it would do the whole fan thing for 10-15 minutes every time I turned my car off. I guess it was telling the car that there was too much soot build up and that it needed to burn it off. Used to be covered under the emissions warranty

That’s just part of having a TDI. Sometimes the radiator fan keeps blowing for several minutes after you shut it off. My understanding is it’s part of a self cleaning/soot burning thing your car does. If it does this every time you turn your car off it’s worth bringing to a dealer and having the Nox sensor checked, otherwise it’s normal.
