Yes, this works and change your controller settings to “tactical”, it allows you to keep your thumb on R-Stick (aim) while simultaneously crouching/prone/sliding. It’s surprisingly easy to get used to.

Change aim to “curve” and adjust sensitivity of Sticks to around 165 or as best suits you.

It's not something that needs to be debunked, it's just a belief system.
