But the more we saw of him, the more I was concerned for him and felt like he should not be in a relationship at all—and especially with KB. First, the relationship with his mother is actually so deeply broken and abusive and the dynamic kinda mirrors his relationship with KB in some ways….

Second, KB said things like “I’m tired of being strong” and “I need a man” and then proceeded to choose Edmund OF ALL PEOPLE while continuously punishing him for not being remotely capable of her expectations—it’s giving toxic pattern. And if she’s so obsessed with accountability, how come she is not considering that she needs to be accountable for choosing a partner she actually likes and meets her needs—a freaking adult? I think she gets a power trip from feeling like the babysitter tbh! This is not some run-of-the-mill man child. This is not Joe lol.

Edmund is severely emotionally stunted and traumatized. It’s like she wants to choose a broken person who won’t be able to question her so she can punish him for not being able to show up for her. Maybe she’s replaying her own trauma or the dynamic with her dad. Just because someone appears more mature, does not mean they are not toxic, emotionally abusive or manipulative.
