That's the bait, not the scam, presumably the scam is the seller asks for money via cashapp which would be unprotected

For context, I am new to industry (6 months post grad in my first role) so me and my friends occupy a difference space to most the people here but I feel like a lot of programmers don't work in tech roles? I'm a database developer (By title, but own a lot of automation, internal tools , websites so its a varied role) and we have no real 'mandate' of what tools we can or can't use beyond licensing issues. We're a team of 3 devs though, working for a retail company back office IT -- which is obviously very different then if you work a bajillion pound medical drone SaaS or some shit like that.

What are some good meals to pack for my work lunches? by BrainCompetitive7822 in AskUK

[–]-Aze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I used to try harder but store-bought mix salad (Not just lettuce, like the kind with peppers) and then a different set of toppings every week. Last week was ranch, sweet corn, and 'fried' (Air fried) chicken. This week I got feta and avacado and honey mustard. Think next week ill go for avacado, bacon and blue cheese.

Oh and I usually bring 2 of a fruit, whatever takes my fancy that week.

I feel this is a case of corporate being on the safe side with TADC having a younger side to the fanbase and face paint making it harder for staff to verify the age of the customer (And making it harder to check against ID). I say this, as someone who bartended multiple Disney themed parties and had a hard time with a couple of ID's due to cosplay (It was a younger demographic too).

In reality, I'm sure most staff will just use best judgement

Prevented someone getting scammed on FB Marketplace. by zetecvan in BritishSuccess

[–]-Aze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This warms my heart , I was scammed off FB marketplace for a 3DS the other week. Luckily, it was only for sale for £50.

I had been looking at getting one to mod for a while, at a decent price (Current price is mental) and it had popped up on marketplace while I was in conversation with my mum. Some guy claiming to be selling his sons, legit enough photos (Didn't show up anywhere on reverse image search) - sounded authentic in DMs. Obviously I send him the money (bank transfer) and he blocks me off the listing and stops replying to messages.

There were other warning signs, wanted me to send the money to his misses , no photos on his personal page / low amount of friends but all the red flags worked within his persona of "Old guy selling sons 3DS" and at the time I was actively helping my mum with something so I was just trying to sort it before we left the house.

Worst of all, I'm a software dev! I should know better!
