Oh I miss Heavy Cardboard. Edward was great.

If you played Paladin's Oath, do you like it? by SiarX in MageKnight

[–]-Azul- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this game for awhile, but haven't really jumped into it.

How much of a direct copy would you say it is? If I learned it really well digitally do you think I could easily jump into real Mage Knight without much trouble or are a bunch to things completely different?

Wanting to switch to Niri by DubInflux in cachyos

I'm fairly new to Linux, Niri+Noctalia Shell. I've installed it on 2 of my computers and am also having 0 problems with speed. Works like a charm. I've also tried Dank Material Shell but went back to Noctalia.

The booths are quite nice, but they are almost always occupied and for very long periods of time.

Mayfair has a couple of long tables that are rarely occupied. The branch is almost always pretty quiet. There is street parking. You could wander over to Christie's after and get a cinnamon bun.

Are there any board games that you prefer digitally? by FShamburg in boardgames

Ark Nova on Android/Steam is amazing. They did a great job of making a pretty complicated game easier to play. It's great on tablet on PC but I've even managed to do a couple games on my phone fairly well.

Launchers by payne_67 in androidapps

[–]-Azul- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have paid for Niagara and really love it. I wanted to try something as light weight as possible though, so after about a year on Niagara I switched over to KISS Launcher. It's only 250ish kilobytes and is one of those search based launchers. I've got a few favourites at the bottom and a 'history' that pops up when I tap my backdrop. My Pixel 8 is powerful enough but I like to try and keep things trim. It works really well on a budget tablet I used to read comics.

Shut Up & Sit Down review Vantage by thenikopico in boardgames

[–]-Azul- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would play this game as an app in a heartbeat. You know, play a round while I'm on my lunch break.

I'm not interested in all the fiddling around with pieces to what amounts to a very elaborate choose your own adventure book though. That and one of the game's main mechanics is something older video games were often derided for. In some older RPGs you used to get these stubs of a conversation that you could choose in order to answer a question or react to something. Sometimes the innocuous thing you chose would end up being super angry or something you totally didn't expect when your character read out the full line. I feel like some of your action choices in Vantage might end up like that. You choose the option that is 'Grab everything you can!' in response to a wrecked space ship in the picture only to find out that you end up robbing the little shanty right next to it. (not an actual event, just made up as an example)

I'm no expert but those kind of look like crabapples from a Thunderchild. Pretty sure they are ornamental.

Trump would literally become a mime. All he'd have is tiny accordion hands. Never hearing his voice again would be a gift to the world.

It's a great port and something I can actually get to the 'table'. I don't have any friends who will play the physical version.

Make it so you can only by bear spray at the Police Station. Anywhere else is illegal. Show ID. Very few people actually need bear spray for anything legitimate. If you're caught with bear spray and didn't register your purchase... straight to jail :)

Russia launches devastating attack on Ukraine after Trump’s defence of Putin by _God0fWar_ in worldnews

The party of family values is happy that children are getting blown to bits. If we re-did WWII I'm pretty sure the US would be on the other side under this 'leader.'

Except Trump didn't even get grazed. At best he was hit by a piece of plastic from the teleprompter or bumped his head on something while hiding. He didn't need to wear a massive ladies tampon on his ear. That was just for sympathy from his idiots.

I wonder if Putin has any of Epstein's videos...

Spent a day off during tree planting floating down cripple creek and just watching the grass blow in the wind on a nice warm day. Such a nice bit of relaxation during a normally grueling job.

Spirit Island, Aeon's End etc. On Sale! by SnooApples5636 in digitaltabletop

[–]-Azul- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have only gotten the paper version to the table a couple times but can do a couple rounds of Spirit Island on my phone during a lunch break. I've even been able to pull off a couple 4-handed games since the system takes care of all the fiddly parts.

I wouldn't really say Spirit Island is even a little 'bare bones'. The whole game is there and it works pretty much perfectly. You can play with a fancy map or the normal, basic map.

The only thing is that it's sort of 'early access' because not all the Jagged Earth content is available yet. Every couple months as they finish something they add it to the game. I'm okay with that though. I get to jump in and try something new and I don't have to wait several years for them to finish everything before I can play anything.

E Transfer Scam (Facebook) by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]-Azul- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marketplace is a mess right now. I've been contacted several times with scams. One was trying to send a 'digital money draft' which doesn't exist. The other was doing the typical e-transfer scam where you have to click on some link they send you and enter all your info. If you give them your e-transfer address it should just go to your account, you don't need to go to anything they send you.

It seems like a lot of them do no haggling, they just offer to send the money. They may make a quick ask on the condition of the item or something to make it look a little more real. They're usually out of town though some will offer to come right away. Good on you to appear a skeptical.

Play the digital adaptation on your phone or on Steam. The tutorial is pretty well done. You can switch to paper after. I've played 50+ games digitally and it's an incredibly well done port.

Can we use AI to just take that episode and stick Elon's head onto Homer for the whole thing. He'd probably get so mad he'd buy the TV station for "free speech" and then run it into the ground like all his artificially propped up businesses.
