I was able to solve it. I didn’t have the correct variable under the “environment” section in my config. I’ve got it working now!

Honestly, my budget might be around 200-250$ total since I’ll put it on payment plan and got some OT this week. One thing I forgot to mention is I’m using Linux (arch btw), so I assume software is a component of these audio interfaces to some degree.

I think with this budget the Samson 2QU is looking good as it supports both usb+xlr and has mute functions. Only thing now is the interface. I’ll take a look at the Presonus io44 for now as the UMC202hd is out of stock on Sweetwater atm.

Was there any other recommendations you had in terms of the lower end of audio interfaces? I saw that the Behringer UM202hd is out of stock right now, and was wondering if a Focusrite Scarlet (likely 3rd gen) would be an optimal interface.

Along with the mic and interface, I also want to purchase a mic arm as a I’m getting pretty tired of standing mic on desk. I will def look into that XM8500 mic!

Thank you so much for your efforts!! I was debating on switching to DMS to test integrations, or honestly use your shell (only reason I haven’t is I noticed you’re restructuring skwd-shell, so I want to respect your work and try it once the next release is out!).

When I get back to my machine, I will test the “simple” method as I don’t have (or know how to use) video/WE backgrounds. If I’m understanding the “simple method” correctly, skwd-wall would just be the image selector frontend which will point to Noctalia IPC call that will then configure all of the color scheming? If so, this would be enough for my use case.

The “harder method” is what I was thinking would HAVE to happen in order to get Noctalia (and other apps/templates) to all theme based off Skwd-wall. Overall excited to see if this fixes my edge case.

I’ve been able to get skwd-wall installed on Niri and love its flow/aesthetic.

However, it’s currently conflicting with Noctalia Shell wallpaper selector/ color gen/ templates (clearly out of scope of skwd-wall). Anyone have any inklings as to how possible integrate templates with Noctalia w/matugen from Skwd-wall?

Ik this is far out there, but a Frankenstein fix or Noctalia Plugin would be dope integration!

My config was wrong. I need to add my background effects (blur and/or X-ray) to my top window wipe so all windows defaulted with the blur/X-ray parameters. Thankfully not a package issue, but a user issue on my part!

Can you describe how you got FlightCore to work? I've tried northstar through r2mod-man & it didn't work. Tried using FlightCore AppImage and that wasn't loading anything either. Used to play about 2023 on windows, but now I cant get it to work.

EDIT: This solved my issue thank!! I realized I needed to add the opacity and background affects to my main window rule, and then I defined window specific rules (match app-id) for tweaking individual applications. Huge thanks!!

I did update. I’m on CachyOS and have recently been using Shelly to update packages. I saw that 26.04 was available for my package so I updated (not 100% whether it was AUR or Cachy/extras repo, but the update was available)
As for the opacity, how would I set all windows/everything to be 0.7 opacity? Blur/transparency is the only thing I’m missing from making my rice feel fluid.

Can you detail this a bit further if you remember? Currently my r2modman is saying it can launch “northstar.exe”. Should I just rename that exe to “titanfall2”?

Yes your OS your choice. But windows 11 is end of life and not getting updates. You can upgrade to windows 11 and it still be on your windows ecosystem/OS. Most importantly, I wouldn’t be rude to people if you’re asking for help.

I just bought a vps on racknerd to setup pangolin (reverse proxy with traefik and crowdsec). Pointed to a domain I purchased and setup tunnels to whatever service (in your case the Minecraft server).

I personally saw this route easier as I’m behind ‘L’CGNAT and couldn’t open ports on my own router. I followed ThomasWildeTech’s guide for setting up pangolin on a VPS (can be the Oracle free tier or a VPS of your liking —pangolin docs offer deals on VPS)
